disrespect of abbaya

mohammad.qatar
By mohammad.qatar

this is regarding the way girls are dressing up these days. i see girls wearing abbya but still one can see what they have worn under their abbaya like they open the abbaya from the fron so that all their jeanse visible. some have not even covered their head properly. my point is if they want to show themselves then they should not be disrespecting abbaya as its meant to cover a woman not to expose.

Adey is right...some very narrow-minded posts. There's many different ways to swing a cat. There's many different ways to wear an abaya. To each her own.

The abayah is merely a garment and a garment per se is not to be respected or disrespected. Not everyone wears the abayah for religious reasons. Some wear them as a part of their culture. And many non Muslims wear abayah as well for various reasons like the fact that it's quite an elegant dress. Hence obviously such ladies will not be wearing the abayah in accordance to the Islamic code of dressing. If you know personally any lady who wishes to wear abayah for Islamic reasons, and is wearing it the way you say, then try to advice them with proof from the Quran and Sunnah. If they take your advice,AlHamdullilah, if not Qadar Allah masha fa'l. Remember the words of Allah: " He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad ), has indeed obeyed Allah, but he who turns away, then we have not sent you (O Muhammad ) as a watcher over them" (Surah An Nisa ayah 80).

Some girls wear the abaya as there family expect and want them too...when really they would rather not.

I always see Muslim girls at souq waqif especially with big hair at the front that you can see and their abayas open up to their waist.

I think the abaya is very elegant but it can draw attention to men just as much as a woman in jeans and a top can, particularly western men, as I have male colleagues who are always curious and look closer to see what the Muslim girls are wearing.

I believe that both men and women are responsible to develop goods in a society. Both should play their role equally or there will be an imbalance. Abayas worn just for fashion is the women's choice at the expense of men's agreement.

Once both realise their obligations, society can be saved from such immoral practices.

the ladies wearing this are permitted from home i guess its the parents or the men in their family to let them wear such stuff , later the lady is to be blamed

To each his own. Ignore them. Abayas are worn for a reason, yet some (as the poster says) use them for the opposite purpose. Is this any different from being allowed to wear shorts and then coming out in spandex ones :o)

Question is.. Why are you wearing abaya, if you want to show your body/clothes?

A girl in bikini.. nothing wrong with it, coz generally you'd see them on beaches or swimming pools or other specific areas.. and you wont see them wearing a bikni and abaya on top of it..

Just turn your head and look away. Like a normal person, instead of trying to stare inside.

In my own opinion there is nothing special or sacred about the abaya. The abaya is a piece of cloth.

What you need to do is respect the person for her own choices. It's not for you to judge others. We can leave that up to God to do.
