Dispatch note on the Windscreen

A few years ago when I moved to this part of the world I noticed majority of the vehicle owners are not removing the vehicle dispatch (computer readable) note which is fixed to either right top corner of the windscreen or to the from passenger glass window. Also, most driver \ owners try to make this label permanent that this lasts for years. In the recent days I have noticed that Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Altima are the worst case coz. They have not one but two stickers right in front of the passenger seat. My question to the passengers of such cars is how they feel about it because it is blocking their view of the road as well as a clear obstruction. Can’t they convey this to their partner \ family members to remove this or this is a symbol of pride of buying a new car (still new after 2 – 3 years on road).

One time i was checking a new car in one of the showrooms and was surprised when 2 locals came in and asked the salesman for any dispatch sticker to fix it on their used car glass, the salesman has appologized for not having the same so the 2 boys asked the salesman to make a xerox for this sticker and hand it to them .

the salesman has no option but doing the same and they have thrown on his desk 50 riyals as a tips.

It is a like wearing a used pair of shoes or a texedo with the brand tag on it .

Illness...........and mental disorder....

I got the answer you are really one of those drivers who stop even before the light starts flashing orange or drive at a speed of 60 on allowed 80KPH limit road.

Me - I got rid of all stickers on my car!! Including the Almana Motors sticker. I know where I bought the car, I know where to take it for its service.

A car here is seen as a status symbol. Fine, I have a Mustang and yes it does seem pompous to own one, but when in the UK would I ever own one???!!!

Living here is about enjoying the moment, you do need to have a sticker to claim that, driving a nice car (personal choice), spending and saving tax free salary, taking nice holidays to exotic places you could never dream of...

Enjoy it while you can!!

PS: If you want to know what annoys the hell out of me more...

1) Drivers having sunscreens over their window obscuring their view as they invariable pull out and claim it is your fault for overtaking them

2) Drivers allowing their children to jump around and wearing no seat-belts in their cars even saloons with limited space. (I'd love for the Emir to issue a decree that all children must be seat-belted at all times or in car-seats) They are putting their lives at risk, the kids lives - and other road users!!!

when i buy my car, i had to ask to get stickers and plastics out, and when it cames to the stickers (3 one in front glass + one in each front window, the guy had to get a shaving blade and fight more than one hour to get it removed, the glue is probably from extra quality, regarding plastics they were so many that again it tooks half an hour to get them all removed, my car is not a Toyota so it 's eventually ok, because not too much cars to deliver, but when you know that Toyota average daily deliveries are 120-150 cars, they just dont have time to remove all this before deliver the car.

You don't seem to handle any comment well that is not in line with your thinking so if you just want people to be mad about it then add that in your OP.

is it affecting your driving?

Why does it bother you a lot?

maybe they are too lazy to remove the same.

Why should that bother you?

Is it disturbing you while you drive around?

Wow, you must be living in another world than, keep your eyes open when on road. If you are not one of those drivers holding the steering wheel tight and focused on the speedometer and hood of your car you will definitely see it.

But pick something worthy of your complaint. You really must be looking around desperately to find this as the target of your complaints.

Sbarang, I belive you coz. I have seen such Advertise I think that was for a Pathfinder. I removed all stickers from my Patrol the very first day I received it. Guess what! my wife is still having all those plastic seat covers on her Avalon's fancy lather seats even after one month of purchase. I can do nothing about it.

Speaking about new car, I was amused that some people advertised a 3+ year old car with almost 100,000 kms as 'BRAND NEW'.

Check the classified if you don't believe me......

I think it's more of showing how they took good care of their vehicle in order to sell it at a higher price.

Well it's not easy keeping all those stuff in years.

As for me, I dont like it I removed it the same day I received my car but kept it for record purposes.

one could remove it and keep it in the file.

I presume it is either to show that they bought a NEW car from showroom or ignorance.

I removed it immediately after purchase.

Yeah it's to give the image that the car is new. Looks ridiculous IMO.

Yalla!

Also I have noticed most people don't remove the plastic seat covers after many years. I am not sure whether it is to show off he/she owns a new car or to cover the seat from the dust. Either way they loose the comfort of the seat.

haha, good topic, i have seen this a lot, i think the reason is because that sticker comes during shipping when car is new, so idea is when people see sticker they think the car must be new, even though it is months or years old.

This is what could figure? Please share if any other reason exist.

I have also asked this to a few but didn't get exact answer. One of a person known to me even glued it again when his brother removed it mistakenly.

Your second point seems to be right...they might be showing off for having a "Brand New" 2-3 years old car :-)
