Well forsure I guess in India the signal is better as they are using small Dish about 60 to 90 cms not so sure. Well I have a 43 inch TV at home, I still have PEHLA running side by side and you will see the difference. I dont think you will get the dish here in Doha from Annabi or Bashir Radio. Place a wanted Add here on QL and see if anyone wishes to sell but mind you, the receiver is programmed and repairable in India by TATA SKY Service centers, in case you buy a receiver here you will pay more and at the same time might not get fixed. I still recommend that you get it from India from a trusted source.

And I dont think there is anyone in Doha who offer this product..

Best Regards

Hello there,

Well yes you are right that I have TATA SKY and i know almost 18 people who have Tata Sky and most of them seem to enjoy the entertainment.

Well if you see the Super Saver Package offered by TATA SKY you will get all the channels that are listed. Plus they have added a channel just for cricket known as STAR CRICKET.

Anyway in the beginning I too had mixed feelings about this system. I got sick of PEHLA and they are not anything great anyway.. But since choice was limited.. I had no other option. A friend of mine got this system and spoke too high about TATA SKY. but seeing is believing so I tested the whole thing out at this place for a week and then I was convinced about having one for myself. As Doha is very poor on entertainment I had to find something that would give me quality time pass when I am off from work.

Anyway.. you will need a 160 CMS Dish, a normal KU Band LNB, The Dish will need great support and needs to be tied nicely as slight wind movement can disturb the signal. The Signal Strength and Quality ranges from 18 to 25 % which is more than enough for Great Sound and DVD picture quality also your area of residence matters, but I dont think that should be any problem.

Interuption only occurs if your dish is unstable, close to other dishes or free standing under the sky. I would recommend that you have your back of your dish placed in front of a wall or Water tank to avoid strong SHAMAL winds from moveing it.

Trust me you will get good quality from this receiver. Make sure you subscribe from India with one year subscription and enjoy later you can order movies and payonline from Doha. I would suggest if you go and see any of your friends who have tata Sky at home since seeing is believing.

By the way I dont work for Tata Sky nor I am I promoting it here. I am another person who got sick of PEHLA & QCV so i opted for something better.. (Just in case questions arise.. LOL)

Good Luck..

I have been reading your posts and come to know that you have installed tata sky. I am currently subscribed to Pehla Silver and I am paying much more than what tata sky is offering. As you are already a customer, may I ask you whether you receive all the channels which you are meant to by TATA SKY and whether their is any service interruption. It would also be beneficial for me if u cud pls tell me your signal quality and signal strength becoz im planning to get a 50 inch lcd tv and if tata sky doesn't look good on it then there is no point.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Pranay

In that case, I would like to know who are these Authorities that will STOP the TATA SKY USERS. From what I understand and I know.. there is nothing so Illegal about it. Its just a receiver from another country that is catching FREE to Air Satellite Frequency.

I heard that this is ban in the UAE as Asian Satellite Service Provider are facing losses as TATA SKY seems to be very cheap and the also provide quality entertainment.

Firstly this is all crap that its illegal and if at all it is, how will they catch the dish seems to look like any ordinary 160cms in diameter..

To Think of it.. QTEL's moziac is not worth and PEHLA too is not worth it as they are too expensive. If Tata Sky is illegal then so is PEHLA in both ways QTEL is loosing..

Anyway... Isko Laga Dala.. Toh Life Jinga lala...

Al Annabi Electronics & Bashir Radio are located at Al Asmakh Street, you are right the dhow round a/b opp Souq Najada.

The best is get your self a tata sky receiver from india, like i did.. and enjoy the entertianment.. Trust me TATA SKY is too good and worth the money you spend on..

Good Luck..

Good day & hope you are doing well.

1. Actually, i have no idea about dish TV, however, some are watching

TATASKY here in doha. All what they do is pay subscription back in

india and just bring the receiver here without tatasky's knowledge.

2. Try ANNABI electronics near to basheer radio, i dont remember which

street it is in(it is place where roundabout has a dhow on it). Hope

it helps.

3. If nothing works out, choose a ASIA package from QTEL mozaic service

which includes ADSL+Telephone Line+Satelite TV, however it is

considered secondary as cost is higher than that of having your own

dishes and QTEL's mozaic package su..ks. (they just offer sun

TV,ZEE,Discovery, national geography etc.,) and claim they have right

to change channels from time to time and its their sole rights.

4. Anyway if your sucessfull please let me know about it too.

Hey I dont think DISH TV is so successfull compared to TATA SKY.

You need to look around at AL ASMAKH Street where you will come across tonnes of Dish Suppliers, may be they will have.

Dont tell them that you need a dish for DISH TV or TATA SKY. Tell them you need it for C BAND Networks. Since now the Demand is high for 160cms Dish they will sell it to you for around 950 QRS when the actual value is around 550 MAX.

You need to look around a little bit. But from what i heard that DISH TV does not have a good signal strength. So get it done by a professional..

Best Regards
