Dis- appointing Philippine Embassy Services

By baby_luv

I just called Philippine embassy  for my new passport which I applied for renewal last 03 May 2011.  Before hand, I asked the man for how many days it takes before I will get it because, july is my renewal of my visa. Im worried if my my new passport not with me  by 3rd of JUly..He goes likes this...Dont worry maximum is 60Days, we will send message to your mobile once we received from ph. take note MAXIMUM 60 Days... so today I just called the embassy coz till now I dont have the message yet, and our company mandoub keep on asking my new passport...

Our conversation like this: JULY 04,2011 at 3:32 Pm.

>Me :  Hello Maam, good afternoon. I just want to ask my passport its been two months since i applied for a new one, but till now I did not receive message from your embassy.

> rude lady from embassy..: When did you applied it.

> me :  Last may 4..

>rude lady from the embassy: ALL PASSPORT APPLIED FOR THE MONTH OF MAY IS NOT RECEIVED YET. (in a no intentions and not in a good mood voice ).

> Me  : But its been 60 days and they told me I will get it and a maximum of 60 days thats why Im calling for it now. This is athe surprising answer from them.

> rude lady from the embassy : NOW NO MORE 60 DAYS MAXIMUM OF TWO AND HALF MONTHS..

>Me : really since when ?

> rude lady from the embassy : NOW

> mE : rEALLY...is that really a rules there in embassy..U can change the rules instantly just like that? what about the date of my renewal of  visa?I cant tell the mandoub that kind of reason.

> Rude lady In Embassy..: ok if u dint not received our message after 1 Week u come here and we will  extend your paSSPORT..

> mE : oK Thank you mam..

My question is. If it happens that my new passport is being extended because of do they charge for the extension? If, do i have to pay for it since its their fault why i am asking for extensions?

Note: I  dont believe the rude lady is telling the truth,  about not receiving all the pasport for the month of may..She justy lazy to send or call all the filipinos to collect their renewed passport.. I saw by my two eyes in the embassy  the bundle of new passport for disposal. When I went there for renewAL..tHE LADY WHO HAVE A BIG mOUTH CHECKING all the receipt and taking the new passport for the filipinos waiting outside I noticed she is more on talking and laughing than searching those passport..watching her  and she managed to get 3 pasports in 25 minutes..hehehe same the lady who is in the first table taking pictures seems she like to talk a lot huh even a lot of filipinos sitting and waiting for their turn (she dont care either..Imagined she so pety and she girgir for not folding the red jackets she lend to the applicant..( at least she can joke to me huh...KAbayan please fold it so it will not wrinkled for the next kabayan who will used it and they looked beautiful with it too in the passport pix.?) they dont have manners at all.

Lastly, Iam a proud filipino( I always sAID that).

But, Im not proud with our own embassy..Hope the consular knew all this things.

Maybe they are so tired in their work thays why theyd ont have strength to serve co Filipinos..Next post I will shoe you some of the pictures..how the talk while working..

SERVICIO PUBLICO....!!!!!

Yes it is the government that is crap and most of the country is paying for it. You can see it everywhere with the amount of hardship. People need to hold their politicians to accountability. It’s one vicious circle.

@acadian so you are married  with a crap, self denial with a crab mentality filipina huh, seems like you are no differrence from us then, since you are sleeping, eating and even join filipinos..you cant deny that you love philippines even you find our government as a crap huh???....

After teaching at your PMA and having to deal with the crab mentality in the Philippines and the crap in your government with people like you in self denial. I think it is not so judgmental.  Also being married to a Filipina and having to take care of the family back home gives me pretty good insight of the country

@acadian,

You are so JUdgemental! you are not welcome here in this thread..since your comment is absolutely IRRELEVANT..go to your country and count all the filipino immigrants there if you have nothing to do.

such people in any government BUT as per your original thread, it does not constitute corruption! The delay in the issuance of renewed passports has nothing to do with corruption (at least in our embasy here), so that's where all my comments here were based.BTW, did you get your passport already?

the OP of this thread made a wrong assumption so I said, everything started with wrong assumption from the beginning.  Technically, it started the wrong way so what do you expect?  When others try to advise her the right way, she started cursing the embassy and shout for corruption, when in fact, she doesn't even understand procedures in getting new passports! So for me, you have no right to judge our government by this thread as you claim!

When it comes to judging your country this thread pretty well sums it up without any help from anyone else. I was only pointing out the obvious according to the comments.  As for your question is my country Holy? That I cannot tell you but you can ask your fellow countrymen who are trying so desperately to migrate there.

By flor1212• 30 Jul 2011 16:57
flor1212

that is not corrupt, Acadian?Actually, this thread was started wrong from the beginning.  The OP should have just had the patience to wait as the embassy here is not in control about the issuance of new or renewed passports.  There was no corruption involved in this matter.Think first before judging our country! Is your country HOLY?

This thread is a sad display to everyone else the problems and corruptions in the Philippines. Many people of other nationalities have often asked the question. If things are this bad for so long, why has the Pilipino people still have done nothing to improve their situation?

It is undeniable that SOME of our embassies in other countries are just like what you said. And of course, it is also true that SOME of the people working there sport a particular kind of attitude (like your life depends on them).Anyway, you may be faulted for not renewing your passport at an earlier time. Back in our home country, you need to have an appointment first to have your passports filed and processed. One month is the usual schedule before you can go back to DFA and have everything done...Because they only take 200 people a day who can go in and do their thing...

Patience is a virtue. :)

The person on the other line can not do anything but to tell you to wait if your passport hasn't arrived yet. It's true that they are having some problems with their machine.

@divadau???

I did not say it is a big big big problem...and theres already solution..but, Im sure its not from your side..seems u cant help much like Flor1212..I was wondring if their services is more satisfying...even they asked for a 500 riyals for renewal and stamping..for sure filipinos will happy to pay it..Without complain!

The earlier I get it The better...

before, they say 30 to 45 days.  Then volume increase, so they say maximum 60 days, but logic dictates that since passport are not made locally, then you can assume that the deadline being given are what is instructed to them. The 60 days given to you are the same given to all those renewing passports. My wife recently renewed her passport, they say at that time, maximum 45 days, but it was released on the 56th day.  All you can do is rant and vent your ire here, but it will never change the fact that your passport has not yet arrived.  The person on the other line told you, wait for the SMS.  so better wait and CALM down. Everything will be fine, you'll see.  You have not experience the worst yet of our embassy. So relax!

passports are coming from Manila, not locally produce.  And I've herad that they are having a problem with the "chip" manufacturer so volume of passport for releasing are becoming voluminous!

and stop complaining....Find ways to solve your problem coz in the very first place you were the one who started your own problem.... you should have renewed your passport as early as 3-6 months before it expires.

since passports are coming from Manila. It is always advice that you renew your passport 6 MONTHS before expiration because we are not in our country where the passport are made.So stop complaining as whatever you do, even if you pay a MILLION dollar, if the passport does not come or delivered here, you have nothing to receive.  And in that scenario, embassy has no obligation to be faulted for the delay in the issuance of your passport.  Your best option was said above, extend the expiration of your passport so your company can renew your visa.

I agree with Moootwist comment, c'mon baby give 'em a break. You dont need to shout and let all QL people know things about our embassy, the things you say on this forum will reflect the way we r? and the way we look into our governmnt.. Try to shout something that will uplift us instead of digging grounds for all of us.
