How can they be 'renovating' a building that has never, ever, been occupied?
Renovating refers to removing old fixtures and fittings and replacing them with new ones. This tower was only completed externally in 2006 and has never been completed internally.
I wouldn't hold your breath for the rumored 5-star hotel. If they were going to open one in there, they would have done it long ago. I would be happy to bet that 12 months from now the tower will still be empty.
As I always like to say to Qatar and it wise leaders:
