Did Trump go too far?
Washington (CNN)Donald Trump's criticism about the Muslim parents of a slain American soldier has generated -- once again -- a backlash within his own party.
Just 100 days from the election, Trump has responded in his standard fashion -- dig in, claim he's being treated unfairly and attack back.
But the swift condemnation of Trump's response raises questions about whether this controversy is different from the ones that came before it.
This time, attacks from the Republican presidential nominee on the parents of a soldier who died defending America have put new pressure on GOP leaders to decide whether they will continue to stand by him. Already, the party's leaders in the House and the Senate have distanced themselves from Trump's remarks, and other Republican figures are attacking their nominee forcefully.
"This is going to a place where we've never gone before, to push back against the families of the fallen," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, said in a statement. "There used to be some things that were sacred in American politics -- that you don't do -- like criticizing the parents of a fallen soldier even if they criticize you."
"If you're going to be leader of the free world, you have to be able to accept criticism. Mr. Trump can't," Graham said. "The problem is, 'unacceptable' doesn't even begin to describe it."
The controversy is over Trump's response to Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son was killed in Iraq by a suicide bomber in 2004. The Khans took the stage Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention, where Khizr Khan rejected Trump's proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States as unconstitutional, pulling a copy of the Constitution from his breast pocket and saying that Trump has "sacrificed nothing and no one."
Trump has since responded by criticizing Ghazala Khan's silence and suggesting she wasn't allowed to speak.
"This is so incredibly disrespectful of a family that endured the ultimate sacrifice for our country," Jeb Bush, a Trump rival in the 2016 GOP primary, said on Twitter Sunday evening
I personaly believe that The Donald overstepped the mark and should apologise.
What say you ?
Yes, correct ..............................
I suppose the Americans will vote for the lesser of two evils ...

The US have a problem. Both candidates are rubbish.
Trump is 100 times better than the OLD bitxx
I say that Trump is dividing the nation and is only in it for himself. He feels that by making outrageous statement he can keep in the limelight and stay away from discussing proper policies
Accha, US agencies will be following this topic ? .......
What does Brit say on it ? ..........
Voter assumes he is in a circus ........ same is the thinking { about the voter } of his elected politician .................
it becomes a carrot & stick story which goes on & on even with the voter's grand children .................... and the voter never thinks with his brain .............
Accha is correct ............ A voter will remain a voter & will have to look towards his chosen politician's jokes ............ and have to keep looking ........... that's the voter's limit ...........
There are certain things that are beyond the comprehension of some people. They have not yet achieved that level of education or maturity. Yet they write just for the sake of writing presenting to the world their true face. It is difficult (better word "impossible") to correct such people. Let them be happy in their own world!
It's the people , if they vote him he will at the seat & you will debate for nothing ...........
Mufti , Who likes criticism in this age ? You start abusing a decent fellow without any reason ........... ?
Too bad on your part ............. !
Black soul ........... ?
.
Which colour is more popular in this season ........ ?
Apologize? This is not a simple mistake one could get over with by simply standing up and saying, "Okay, I am sorry." Trump has been openly critical of Muslims worldwide let alone of those in his own country. His statement is a true reflection of his inner self. He insulted the family of a Muslim US soldier who was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, and the Purple Heart which I believe is the highest US military award when Captain Humayun Khan laid down his life protecting the lives of soldiers under his command.
Trump is a person who has lost control of his moral compass, He is a man with a black soul.
It is because they think he can keep America safe of terrorist attacks and illegal immigrants. His rabble rousing is working perfectly.
What is fascinating is that he has so much ground roots support - People who agree with his comments
He actually thrives on hate. Every time there is a terrorist attack, he gets more support.
I am surprised and confused by this latest outburst.. The surprising thing is that it hasn't damaged his ratings.. (What does that tell you about his support)
Also, one wonders that if he cannot take simple criticism, then how will he handle it when he's president of the strongest nation on earth.
He is a jerk.
A person who doesn’t tolerate criticism is not fit to lead a country like USA.
Who is Donald Trump?
Trump has gone far at all instances.
He is using the shock value.
