Dhoni to stripped of captaincy?! (ODI/T20)
Apart from the article, I saw on the news channel that he has already been stripped of his captaincy... It also has something to do with a brawl team India had at a bar with fans who were taunting them. (No it wasn't Harbhajan, its Nehra and Zaheer). Apparently they should have been sulking in the hotel room after losing all Super 8 matches instead of partying at a bar.

KOLKATA: He's had a six-year honeymoon since his international debut in 2004, been hailed as 'Captain Cool' and led India to the inaugural T20 World Cup title and the No 1 ranking in Tests. But Mahendra Singh Dhoni may be about to suffer the first major setback of his career.
With India failing to win a single Super 8 match in two straight T20 World Cups, there is talk of replacing Dhoni with Virender Sehwag as captain in both one-dayers and T20.
It is possible that India will have a new captain as early as next month when the selectors name the squad for Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. While Sehwag seems the front-runner for the top job, Dhoni will continue to lead the team in Tests, where India is No 1 in ICC rankings. There is apparently a section within the BCCI, which wants Dhoni to be retained even as ODI and T20 skipper due to his track-record, but the selectors seem to be ready to seek a change of guard.
The series of "blunders" by Dhoni in team selection, batting order and tactics are likely to be held against him. His blaming of late-night IPL parties has also not gone down well with the powers that be.
MS Dhoni, who has an imperious track track record as captain, may be about to pay the price for two successive failures in the World T20 tournament.
In fact, some insiders say that the change of guard is aimed at achieving two objectives — one, signalling the BCCI's deep displeasure with Dhoni for speaking "out of turn", and two, deflecting attention from the BCCI which can't be absolved of blame for its failure to prepare the team.
What's making it easier for the administrators to seriously think of axing Dhoni is his below-average form. His tendency to frequently promote himself in the batting order has apparently led to murmurs amongst batsmen who find themselves being constantly shunted up and down the order.
Those claiming to know the selectors' also point out 'shortcomings' like Dhoni's inability these days to come up with his trademark big hits. They cite the crunch match against Sri Lanka in which Dhoni walked in with Gambhir and Raina having provided a perfect platform, but failed to provide impetus. Worse, someone like Yusuf Pathan, who could have taken on the Lankan spinners, got just a few balls to face.
It's a moot point whether any other captain could have fared any better. And Virender Sehwag's own captaincy record isn't exactly awe-inspiring. In fact, Sehwag has even given up the captaincy of Delhi Daredevils, saying he prefers to enjoy the game and concentrate on his batting. Clearly, there are many more dramatic episodes ahead in the soap opera that is Indian cricket.
Dhoni is still the best option for captaincy despite of his own & team's dismal performance in the T20 World Cup.
It is all in the game... ups and downs are there which everybody has to go through...
Dhoni has done justice for his captaincy and he cannot do it all alone....
Pretty serious rumor if it elicits a response from the BCCI. I guess the thought might have corssed their mind...

Dhoni not to be replaced as T20 captain, says BCCI
New Delhi, May 14 (PTI)
Amid speculation that Mahendra Singh Dhoni may be replaced as India's Twenty20 captain following the team's dismal performance in the West Indies, BCCI today sought to clear the air saying though it was unhappy, there was no such move.
"Obviously we are not happy with the performance of the team but it does not mean that we are thinking of removing Dhoni as Twenty20 captain," a top BCCI source said.
The Indian team, knocked out of the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies, returned home today and will have to face some tough questions.
The cricketers avoided eye contact at the Mumbai and Delhi airports with the waiting media and slipped into their vehicles without offering any comments. Dhoni chose to make a quiet back door exit.
The team's arrival came a day after reports that coach Gary Kirsten had spoken to seven cricketers individually and complained about their fitness and commitment.
On his arrival in Mumbai, team manager Ranjib Biswal denied that the players had got any dressing down from Kirsten.
"Nothing of this sort happened. We were all together at the team hotel's swimming pool before departing for home," Biswal told PTI.
Kirsten is believed to have held one-on-one meeting with seven senior players, including Dhoni, and is expected to give his inputs to Biswal who will submit his report to the BCCI.
While the players returned home, Kirsten stayed back in London and would rejoin the side in Johannesburg when the team goes to Zimbabwe for a tri-series also involving Sri Lanka. Dhoni is under fire for his tactical blunders during the World Cup and according to a source, the selectors want to exert pressure on him by putting him on notice when they sit down to select the Indian team for the Asia Cup next month. The source said Dhoni would be given the captaincy on a tournament-to-tournament basis.
Although he has led the team to the top of the ICC Test rankings and to the number two spot in the ODI rankings, Dhoni's captaincy has not been upto expectations in the Twenty20 format.
just relax..nobody is going anywhere. dhoni will remain the captain of the indian cricket team.
