The Devil We Know

The only comfort, as we watch the Egyptian once upon a item ( and we all know very well who they are :S demonized and isolated opposition party “ The brotherhood “ prepare for a complete takeover of power is that they can’t blame it on the West this time around. :P

Perhaps you are right. From what I have read so far, the Brotherhood has talked about respecting the rights of all.

My point is that we cannot enforce who we feel is right. For a democracy to take root and flourish, the people must be given choice to choose and possibly make mistakes along the way.

There has been one exception so far. The Peruvian president reduced his salary to US$1.800 per month. What he got for this was "is he insane?" or such. He was an indigenous Peruvian. Maybe we can learn something from the Red Indians!

The Greeks who invented democracy, didn't trust their leaders per se. They assumed that a leader would work into his own pockets. This truth is known since more than 2000 years. How silly can people still be to think when they elect (any) leader, he would do something FOR them? I can only repeat: the US constitution was written to PROTECT the people FROM the government. Which leader in Africa, Asia, or the Middle East cares for HIS people? - (Without hoarding more into his own accounts).

Brit: Because the brotherhood and democracy are two opposing ends.

What’s the brotherhood’s stance on alcohol? Interests for banking system? Capital punishment?

Civil courts? Gay rights? Secular constitution instead of Shariah? Because Shriah doesn’t say many good things about people who oppose it (: Back to Square 1!

I see neither 1 of these candidates is any worse than the black Hitler of America.

I find it strange that people are demonising them without allowing them to prove themselves.
