A day of Rejoice, Pride & History

We hear, from the generation P, what they did on June 25th 1983. Most of them share their moment of glory, connecting an entire nation to the feeling of triumph and pride of being Indian. But that was an ‘upset’ , as they say, a deserving one though. The Gen-X aspired to relive those moments of glory every 4th year, tried, expected, reached there but the coveted ‘Cup of Pride’ elapsed everytime to better performers. Then comes the day, the day of Rejoice, Pride & Glory, April the 2nd 2011 and as the Mumbai sun sinks to the dusky waters of Arabian Sea, a new Hero emerges to the Horizon. A small town hero, a middle class aspiration and a Man personifying courage, determination & leadership steers billions of Indian across the globe to their Moment of Life.

Yes, the Man is M S Dhoni, Captain of Indian cricket team and the moment of life is, for many of us, Winning the ICC World cup-2011; Happiest moment of our life and moment to be cherished for long. World is change in these 28 years, from radio listening fans to big plasma watching fans, from upset team to ‘expected deserving team’. The path was never a cake walk but these bunch of achievers who believed in them, rightly so having the God of cricket (Sachin Tendulkar) with them, arrived to the occasion. They symbolize the new India, not emerging but, as Obama said, Emerged India.
It wasn’t an easy path of success, imagine the opposition in QF: Mighty Australian, SF : Spirited Pakistani & Final : Solid Srilankan, but as they say, like a fairytale, it ended with winner takes it all.

I always wonder and ask our friends, why people are “so” mad about football, always laughed on their craziness, but this day lent all the answers when sea of people erupt in sheer joy across the country, mega cities to small towns, beyond the caste creed & class, just celebrating this day of Rejoice, Pride & History.

To all lovers of game of cricket, Indians and friends, heartiest congratulations !!!!!

[Technical analysis of the game can wait for sometime, till then just let us live this Moment of Glory !!!]

Congratulations to all Cricket Lovers and all Indians. Well Done Indian Cricket Team. Fruit of patience, lessons learned from mistakes, well planned strategy and home crowd support brought back the glory of ICC World Cup after 28 years. Salute to MS Dhoni and Sachin to made their dreams come true with continuous hard work and struggle.

she will not do because of pressure from bjp, shiv sena, mahila morcha mandal etc. and PETA told to do it for a good cause rather than doing it in a huge stadium which will have bad effect on indian culture.

however yesterday some nude photos of liz taylor was released after the indian match on website ;-)

ok, i got the news, she'll now do the "show" in Paris....

quote from TOI,

"She added that "going nude in private with consenting adults for a therapeutic purpose" is not an offence, and said that a contract for the same could be drawn up as the BCCI is not a government body. She suggested that the BCCI choose another country such as Paris for her striptease to avoid controversy."
