Customer Service in Damas - Lulu Hypermarket

Just want to share my experience from Damas last night...

After coming from Souq to look for diamond ring for my gf, i went straight to Damas - Lulu Hypermarket to see what they have. When i reached to Damas, i approached a salesman to ask what they have for diamond ring and he answered me back "outside!", i replied with curiosity "outside?" then he answered again "outside!".

That time a was disappointed already for his "customer service". So i went outside, look at the diamond rings (they only have few choices anyway...) then i called the salesman with a loud "pssttt!" and using my finger to come to me and he did not even move a little bit but the same time one salesman show up and he is the one who came to me to assist me.

The other salesman took the rings and showed it to me. When i started asking for discount and other informations he just totally ignored me! WTF!

So being so pissed, i left DAMAS immediately. They just lost a customer who is willing to purchase a diamond worth Qr.10k.

the first and most important law of customer service is:

"treat all customers as they are VIPs"

others say as they are your boss

The seconed is "customer is ALWAYS right"

I didnt see niether of them applicated anywhere here, honestly even at the fanciest places, the treat customers as burdens

I was chocked when I arrived Doha how shops turn the light off on clients !!! even if the time is off what's wrong, why dont they send thier reps to appologize to clients politely so they can leave having a pleasent feeling instead of feeling dumped???

So, buddy dont be sad, you will have plenty of experiences here its totally normal.

I agree to both of you Voldemort & SallyDeepu...i guess discriminations too..they normally see first based on your looks if you have money to buy??!! We also experience the same fate in Modern Home...sadly it's from own countrymen...they look and treated us like shit while other window shoppers?..they are so polite with other nationalities but not to Filipinos like them! Too bad they lost QR40k worth of purchase from my furniture allowance.

If I am the owner or sales manager of these shops...i would punish this kind of salesperson because they are the responsible why sales are low....yes, they really think the they are giving you favors by attending your queries.....WHAT AN IGNORANT ATTITUDE!

same thing happened to one of our friends so most of us avoid going to Damas in Lulu Hypermarket. Sale Service is not good.

I agree 100% with SallyDeepu's opinion action, anyone should do that anywhere wherever he founds customer service that sucks, and believe me it works like magic, once you mention you want to speak with the duty manager, or shop manager, you will find the person 100% transformed ... its a reciepe try it its a yummy one ... :))))

All my Jewelry is from Damas. Not one particular shop but various Damas stores. I know many staff that work at Damas and I know for certain that they take their customer service very seriously so I would suggest that instead of getting upset you approach their shop manager and have a word with him and if you find him to be as rude as his juniors then get his managers name or call Damas HO in Doha or simply send them an email.

If someone behaves rude with me and I behave the same way then what is the difference between that person and me??

Ciao!

How can you generalize like that? I dont think that is fair. I have come across filipinos, arab expats and many other nationalities to be rude and yes some from India too but that does not mean all the filipinos or arab expats or indians are impolite!!!

I HAD ALMOST SAME EXP. THERE. WAITED MORE THAN 20 MINUTES WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS FOR A SALEMAN TO SHOW SOMETHING AND LEFT THE SHOP. THEY EVEN DOES'T SAY PLS WAIT OR PLS SIT NOTHING. JUST IGNORE....

I've benn so many times in Damas LULU but thankfully that it never happens to me yet. But it happened so many times in other places where I just leave the place & tells myself I am more bless than them, so i feel no anger in me.

why on earth u didnt go to Damas Landmark, they are specialized in diamonds, plus Damas always make a 10%-30% discount at the normal time, but if you wish to purchase wait until they make discount, it reaches 50%-60% - by the way they just finished thier discount...so wait dude and choose which branches to deal with, also Centerpoint branch is cool

and dont be mad ... shit happens
