Crossing Red Signals on Doha Road

Why people are crossing red signals on Doha Roads? I think signals are changing quickly than on Dubai roads and its hard for the motorists to control their vehicles? Moreover, motorists are bit panic fearing the penalties as per the new traffic law.

They have timers in Bangalore also. Its a real good idea. Can avoid a lot of confusion and I dont think its that expensive to implement in Doha. I think they shud do it.

but beating a yellow light can be done accordingly. Although it is not advisable, but approaching an intersection in a high speed and suddenly stopping without considering the vehicle following you might also result in an unwanted accident.

In a straight highway where you can see the signal lights even far away, you have to depend on good judgement where start slowing down when approaching intersection, but in defensive driving, it would best to slow down a little in approaching intersections and accelerate again if passable.

During normal driving its not too bad but when there is a traffic jam at the traffic light, thats the worst time ....

really some angel could only help us by passing the timer message to the concerned authorities.......Definately a big problem would be solved for us motorists if the Timers appear on the signals.....God help us!

I have been here for a very short period and I started driving recently but I can say that the new traffic law didn't fix the problem in Qatar .. Before penalties people should be educated and Gov. should do more awareness programs

I witnessed my self within 2 weeks here in Doha 3 or 4 potential accidents due to lack of respect

They should have a timer showing howmany seconds are left. I have seen it, that its starts from some 30 or so and reduces to zero.

So we will knwo exactly how much time is left to cross or wait for the next
