Cricket-Are the Indians merely paper tigers?

India is well on the way to being whitewashed comprehensively in the current Australia series. They were battered and smashed to smithereens by England earlier in 2011.

Are the Indians only good in their own backyard? They have proved (yet again!) that they are pathetic when touring other nations (except Bangladesh, i think)...

exactly i totally agree and i just wanted to explain the same in my previous post. but it seems more than indians the non-indians are worried about india's performance

I think we indians are expecting too much from our national team. We want them to win every match they play is too much, but we can expect them to win all matches in their home ground from INDIA and which they did !!! World cup!!!....now they are loosing with australia in australia.......

now this time we should let the australians do what we indians do at india. Let them win it 4 - 0......no hard feelings......

but we expect our indian team to defeat in similar manner when they come to india for a series......so i expect a revenge when they come here.......

Hahahahahahahahah - now today was funny. So we have last 4 wickets falling for no runs - India should have been made to bat for a third time to give the supporters some value for money!! 2nd innings defeat on the bounce - bad, real bad. Still, on the positive side, more time for the Indian superstars to get back to the marketing and commodification of their personal brands and get in a little beach time - if only they didnt have a 3rd test coming up to spoil their holiday.

Pitch fixing what a joke, both teams have to bat on it! Indian batting has been crap all tour!

England is definitely far better at home in the one day game, however I don't believe that applies to the test side, at least to the same extent.

India is in transition between a great old side now past its best and younger players.

most of the teams dont perform if not homeground its not only India.. if India were white washed in England then England's condition was the same in India. If England and Ausies are good at fast pitches India is good at slow pitches.

There is no such rule or regulations which decides a team's calibre when comes to kind of pitches.

But still when India dont perform the whole world will rise and when it perform you all know what
