There are reports that there was a tragic accident Near Bida
park(26/11) yesterday where a small kid was run over by a car.
Anybody has any info regarding the same.
Plea to parents : Please pay attention to your kids especially on the streets of Doha.

Show some compassion you ignorant moron,a child was killed. Safety would surely come before cosmetics when it concerns the life or death of children. Im guessing you have no children. A parent or responsible adult could never write such a thing. I dont think basic Health and Safety is asking " the Govenment " to take care of the kids.
As ive already stated i dont take my kids there, its not worth the risk, but to inadvertently disrespect this childs family with your comments. You should be ashamed.

knoxcollege, I strongly agree with you. I have seen many people here are very careless to their kids (not to mention race). I happen many times finding mother walking alone and their kids behind. I often also seeing people (especially mothers with kid, not to mention the race again) walking in the middle of road as the road is their own garden.
May I guess because of big penalties for whomever hit them to death, so they think the road is such a safe place?.

If you cannot take care of your kids in the Bidda Park and you are afraid that they might run over onto the adjacent road in a blink of an eye then dont take your kids there. Take them to Wakrah Park. No one is forcing people to take their kids to Bidda Park. And think how would teh corniche look with the Bidda park all fenced up.
When people cannot take care of their kids they expect others/Government to take care of them.

I remember one kid on a very low cycle hiding (from his friends)right right behind my car, and his height in that position, would be just above my sedan's rear wheel.
Luckey for me he was on the Driver side of the car and I could see him and give him a "beep". I still shiver thinking - what if he was on the other side?

I've never liked Bidda. It takes a second to take your eyes off your child before he or she vanishes away, which is easy because the park is always very very busy. Bida is between two busy roads, there is no safety and it is totally ungated, so if disaster strikes and you momentarily lose sight of your child the worst is likely to happen -that he steps into the road.
Before calling anyone careless, and more especailly the devastated parents of a child who has been run over a car, you should think that this kind of accident could happen to anyone.
the corniche is a terrible place if you look at crossing the roads.i still feel for that poor housemaid who ran onto the road to get the kid who had slipped from her grasp ,was hit by a suv(no prizes for guessing which one) lost a leg, fractured her pelvis and spine and her upper arm and became paraplegic from the spinal injury. sigh...and they said the corniche is a nice quiet place. not to me!!!
firstly kids should be at home in bed by that time, secondly they are not supposed to be on their own, thirdly should anything happen the parents /guardian should be penalize........

I have seen kids as young as four with no safety gear riding a bike at midnight on a busy street. And when they get hit by a car its the drivers fault. How is he supposed to see them when they dont have any reflector or light on their bike.

My youngest is only 4 and way too excitable and quick. In a split second she would be away. Why put a park in such a ridiculous location.
It may look pleasant but its so unsafe and dangerous.
