Conveyor Belt Buffet at Oishi Sushi

dolphin2-Doha
By dolphin2-Doha

2 Days ago,I received SMS from Oishi Sushi about their new promotion on Sushi and Maki Conveyor Belt Buffet............ at a price of Qr 135/-....
I went today and discovered that it was very interesting and the quality of the food they serving for the conveyor belt buffet was as good as any other time I came to eat....

And amazingly.... it cost me now... only Qr 135/-.....
I really took advantage of it and ate 22 plates of different color plates....I believe the color indicate the actual price you would pay on their normal days....

And the varieties of the sushi and maki really allow me to try all kinds of maki which I would not be able to do on a normal outing and the price I paid for it.....

And I believe this is the ONLY one in DOHA providing a CONVEYOR BELT BUFFET at this price.....

One more thing..... I also discovered they also had a new menu and most prices now are cheaper...and now they have the Oishi Dhow in 2 versions... Premium for 49pcs and Deluxe for 26 pcs....

You guys should go and check it out...

Let me know what you think for the buffet...

But genesis, does she actually like the sushi or is it just to support her friend?

Maybe you can leave a comment on their comment sheet and tell them what to improve?

I have to go to Oishi every week anyway (been doing this ritual for the past 2 months) . As my wife is friends with the owner plus we take my son to paint at the reef ;)

I still think they need to improve their California & tempura makis

with all due respect, but it's nothing compared to YO! SUSHI. Their selection of maki & rolls are very limited & not exceptional (I think La cigale & aldana at sharq serve the best rolls in doha). I’ve also dined at their Typniaki table & still think Sakura at Ramada is better.

Conveyor Belt bar at Oishi Sushi...

..if you emptied 8 plates of the same color, you get a nice plate of salmon sashimi.. well... it's not that we had sashimi as a target.. i am just sushi obsessed in general… so we easily collected 3 stacks of 8-10 plates of different colors... when they brought us 3 full plates of salmon sashimi, I couldn't even look at them anymore...

Being a mom, it is a full time job,. ..

Unless someone is out there, still single or married with out kids and trying to push it, due to their advance meter of the aging process...

By far i can say that Oishi Sushi serves the best Japanese cuisine in Doha. The menu has many verities & the Teppanyaki is really good. My only comment is that sushi shouldn’t be kept for long on the conveyor belt. Usually in outlets like YO!sushi it is kept for an hour max.

The best thing... it is not a promotion...but believe it is going to be a regular affair - buffet on every Monday and Tuesday....

I have shared my idea with them that it will be even better if they can have it on Friday afternoon from 2 to 6pm...where I can spend more time with my friends on the buffet..hee.heeee....eat till I drop....haa.haaaa

So... anyone out there agree with this idea....

As mentioned.... most of their prices now are reduced....

looks like they are the same trend as the Credit Crunch Crisis around.... which benefits the consumer more instead...heee...heee

This is their number.... 442-8989

dolphin2-Doha ...22 plates?? i recall each plate used to contain 3 pieces of sushi... are you saying you have eaten 66 pieces???

actually, that's what happened to us.. my hub and i were there about couple of months ago.. we ordered some big plate of mixed sushi and stuff... and while we were waiting, this belt started moving, and attractive plates started passing by, just in front of our noses.. so my hubby tried one plate, then another one, then we got couple of them at once, then again.. again... so when our order arrived I personally was full of sushi.. but we finished almost all of them anyway... but to be honest it was a bit princely… I think he paid something around 500 or so…

Beela.. yeah, I have couple of my favorite Sushi places in Toronto… and you pay for the plate of 18 pieces 18 bucks (around 58 QR)..

I am actually sushi obsessed…

Oishi Sushi is located at Royal Plaza Mall...Al Saad Street....2nd Floor

I went with 3 friends.... in total... we ate almost 75 plates....

Come to think of it.... that's true.... Never expected it cost me "that" much....Qr 6.18 for each Sushi I ate...

In normal days it will cost me... at least Qr 200-300...

Anyway... their color plates pricing seem to have change to a much lower.... like...11, 15, 19 for the first 3 color plates... which I can recall... but most importantly... their quality of food remain the same even for the buffet....

That nite...I took Futo maki...cali maki...Tempura maki... Unagi roll...Edamame...Royal Roll, and 3 plates of Salmon Sashimi....from the bonus.......

I love the Chawanmushi they serve on the belt...amazing... different but unique taste...

Let me know what you thought of the buffet....

for me... form 1 to 10... am giving... 8.5...

what say you....

I am going again next Monday....

Ofcourse he din't want you to know his real address..

The reason is that Paaju is really "Mallu Man".. a caped crusader (similar to batman, except in a Lungi) who stealthily walks the streets of Doha fighting crime and injustice, whilst sometimes eating at the local cafes..

Sushi Boat!

Here we have a number of places that have the boats floating around. I like sitting right there because you can watch the chefs make the sushi, and they'll make you something if you don't see it float by.

Do they charge you extra for each uneaten piece of sushi?

I'll be right there! LOVE sushi. There's a little place in San Francisco called Sushi Bune (boat) that has plates of sushi on wooden "ships" going around the bar in an elliptical stream of water. You just sit at the bar and pick up the ones you want. They count the plates after.
