Converting two laptops into one desktop!
Hi,
I have two HP Pavilion laptops; quite high end for when they were bought some four years ago. They are now defunct, for all reasonable purposes, but are stacked with parts that could be turned into a reasonable desktop.
The graphics cards have been the only problem, NVDIA GeoForce rubbish, of course, but everything else about the two machines purrs along nicely. I would like to strip them down and use the four hard drives, two screens, perhaps one of the motherboards and pair them with a good graphics card. Add a wireless keyboard and mouse and utilise the fine properties of the rest of the machines to function as a desktop.
This isn't pie in the sky, I have never taken apart a computer, but I am sound on basic circuitry, does anyone have any comments about the practicality of all this?
I am not a gamer, do not need fast graphics, want a reasonable speed and a decent screen image.
Comments would be welcome, including those who think it's a stupid idea!

I saw a magician do it once. LOL!
same comments...
different type of componets.
the only thing u can remove from a laptop is the hard drive.
and i think its ide not sata..
so u need to find a mother board who support ide connections.
screens will not fit..different connectors also..
what u can make is connect an external monitor to the laptop and a wireless mouse and keyboard.
I have the same comments of diannawills.
four hard drives??? you have 2 on each laptop??? just asking. Maybe partitions.
