Hi guys so i was planning to Upgrade my pc to by buying a new AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processor - Nvidia Geforce graphics card 2gb - Gigabyte 78lmt mother board.
i will stay on my 160GB HD - 2GB ram -and biggest problem power supply:-
Current: 7A- 4A
MAX: 255V
Peak:335V
i will be using my for normal working -Gaming but i wont be overclocking...So will these new stuff work with my OLD POWERSUPPLY or i must Buy i a new one...
Be careful dude. Fireworks are not allowed in this part of the year. :D BTW its not the voltage that matters instead the Current in Amperes.
go for 500w or above capacity
I will update my HD later using low Budget Atm, So how many voltages do you reccomand to GET?
Your PSU is not enough!
you can not maximize the performance or benefit from the upgrade of your video card, unless you change your power supply. by the way, why not add additional HDD. you only have 160gb...
Wait, What will Burn THE processor or powersupply?
and thanks btw :P
You'll need to upgrade, The Video Card itself will need about 300W to power it to full potential. If you upgrade with the new chip and MB than you might as well spring for a 1KW Power Supply to have enough to power it and upgrade in the future. The card may burn out the Current Power supply after a while and you'd end up replacing it anyway.
It depends probably on how powerful your NVIDIA card's processor, coz as you should know, you can get a powerful card or a weak one with 2 GB of VRam. I believe the Phenom II might be OK on his own in any case.
Anyway, it's recommended to upgrade the power supply as well, although to my knowledge, nothing bad can result from a not-powerful-enough power supply.
