Keep us updated if you find some....

My guess is that they must be having some site (man-made) near the US Base in Qatar...if there is none there then it would be hard to find any.

Never heard of Mountains in Qatar anyway...

Thanks for the replies just to keep you all in the picture im a climbing instructor but not for payment it used to be my job and before that it was my hobby, same with the kayaking, but now im here so ill take a look at that site you mentioned Khanz, if i can eventually get my gear across ill be playin there alot if its good ill let you know cheers.

Jackmohan as for kayking its not white water rafting at all there inflaitables a kayak is a totally different craft originally used by eskimos, there used as chase boats for white water rafting but thats a different subject. Illalso let u no if this climbing site is of any use and if all else fails you will see me at the city centre game zone lol and if that fails it will have to be PS2 lol.

Mariathomas thanks for the tip on Kayaking ill give them a bell and if any of you climbers ever get to Jordan try Wadi Rum thats good climbing well stay safe and have fun thanks for the help Jay

Kayaking is white-water rafting...If I m not wrong ....which means it is practiced in downstream rivers.....Qatar does not have any rivers so I wonder if you would be able to do it in the sea.

Better still try the PS2.....lol

There is a wall for Rockclimbing for children at city-centre (gaming Zone 3rd floor) about 6-7 meters high. Its paid with the Game-zone card, in one ticket you get 3 attempts but dont try it its too easy even the (good) kids manage to the top on every attempt......it would be quite embarrasing for and adult to play as no adult play there ....allthough it mentions that the adults can also try that....(the fingers really itch for a good climb)

I too am on the look out for some climbing site....have climbed some steep hills....in the Sahayadri mountain ranges in Maharashtra, India ...but always with a harness, figure of 8 and the connector with rope for protection ....nothing free-hand.
