Hi Edifis,

thanks for your great feedback. It was shot over the last 6 weeks, starting end of September. Fortunately one cannot see the sweat at the Katara scene, but believe me it was unbelievable hot and humid.. Yes, besides that the temperature was a lot better for the other shooting days. The Inland Sea sequence was so windy at the end, that the equipment got full of sand and we had to stop shooting. Watch out for the Making Of to be released soon. Greets Alex

Very Nice!

It must have been winter when you shot it! The lady is not sweating at all!

And her gown is fluttering in the wind but the sand is still!

....call it amphitheatre! It is not a Colosseum.

There is only one Colosseo and of course and it's not in Katara! Plus, such a building in Katara and not being properly used yet, what a pity!

I think the picture is very nice....Reminds me of Julie Andrews from the 'sound of music'.

And I like viloin very much.....like the 'Zigeunerweisen' by Pablo Sarasate...Just listened to one rendition by Bojidara Kouzmanova...and it was wonderful!

Dear doha2011qatar,

I respect your opinion and accept that this opinion might be shared by a large number of people local and foreign alike, however allow me to say that to a certain degree art had universally always was a subject to special treatment by religious and secular communities alike.

Very recently I was a visitor to an exclusive event attended by very many local VIP's including a great number of members of the ruling family. Event showcased some of the best Arabic singers from across the region. In the audience and on the stage one saw people dressed both conservatively and extremely openly. In some cases you saw a fully veiled woman sitting next to a friend of hers dressed all but provocatively. I must point out that almost all of these were local patrons. This was a televised event.

Another example. If you go and sit in Souk Wakif have you shisha and drink your tea, on the telly you will more than likely see MTV Lebanon. Most of their videos would also not be approved by an Imam. And this is within 1 minute's walk to the closest Mosque.

In fact the dress the violinist is wearing in that photo is not acceptable to wear to ANY house of worship, whatever religion it might be. But not because it's provocative. It is just out of place anywhere else but on the stage. And this is where she is perceived to be in this shot.

I believe that anyone who finds this photo unacceptably provocative is free to flag it to the MOD and it will surely be duly removed. It hadn't yet...

I hope you don't find my opinion too radical, but I do beg to differ with you on this subject.

Kind regards,

Dimitri

well its actually the complexion created by her skin tone against the color of her dress, the sky and the sands makes it all attractive.

It never was and never will be our intention to be disrespectful to the feelings of any human being. The Music Video is a high quality artistic work which focuses on the power of classical music and the intense passion of playing an instrument, such as the violin. This message will be very clear throughout the whole Video.

The majority of the local population does not appreciate half naked woman in public, especially at administrative events.

Why this disrespect for the feelings of many Qataris?

Otherwise please find me one imam in Doha who agrees with this.

Alexklim, this is furthering alien beauty ideals.

Many people want to be free from transformative influence like this.

Plus: Does you and Nina Heidenreich in a reciprocal fashion appreciate women wearing the niqab (face veil) in occidental home countries, e.g. Austria, Germany etc. ?
