Cinema in Doha
DO NOT go to a movie on the weekend if there is the remotest chance children will be there.
This is the 3rd weekend that I take my kids to the movies at the City Center/The Mall/Landmark and it's always the same.
Many kids are there with their maids/nannies with the parents nowhere to be seen. They are screaming, shouting, babbling, fighting, playing with their mobiles...
Absolutely terrible.
theres a shop up by hardies at the airport which sells beand new releases on dvd for 30 qr, theres suppose to be a street with shops and some dvd shops there - i havent found it yet but if anyone knows where this is please let me know!! recent actual dvd relieases i think the best place is the shop in royal plaza on the third floor its a music dvd shop but new new releases are about 130 qr we got click there about a month ago which is pretty new.
Does anyone know if the recent movie releases are available on DVD in Doha?

So here I was looking forward to being able to got to the movies each week when I arrive!! Oh well-think I won't bother then!!

Really it is wonderful, imagine i attend the 8:30 pm show,and at the weekend
and there are just near to 5 to 6 child just in the cinema,teh rest are graeter than 18!!!
Monster House is for everyone.
I enjoyed it and so did the kids although the little one found it a bit scary.
Anyway is it thrill movie ?!!

Agree with Suzana, cinema was so cold the first time that i couln´t watch the movie, next time i went with jacket, socks and tennis shoes and it was perfect.
a little bit of a hint, don't watch monster house, asterix, harry potter lol ...
My best time is when watching a movie at the cinema, so i think it will be the worst time with childs around, there popcorn smell near you, alot of heads in front of you, turning right and then left trying to keep trach in movie,loud speakers chating, ah it is nightmare not movie..
Another bad thing is the cold. I think that they are overreacting a little bit with the airconditions not only in the cinemas but everywhere.
Hi e46M3 ... i second your statement. Going to cinema in Doha is an ordeal. 3 of us spending over 100 QR for the tickets and popcorn, but these people (which is mostly locals) just ignorant and blatantly talking on their mobile during the show. They dont have the courtesy to talk outside or put their mobile on silent.
