Chicken is my favorite animal

Friends....I love Chicken and have so since I was a tiny little baby. I like it broiled, grilled, fried and even baked. I like it by itself, or with Alfredo sauce on noodles, I like it in rice, or served with potatoes. I eat at least a half a chicken a day and sometimes a whole one..So

I must know

Whats the chicken situation like in Doha, Qatar?

Price, quality and availabilty?

oh please leave the srilankan spices... that is TOOOOO HOT even for other south asians.... almost all the dishes have those dried chilli paste... and its lethal

The Indian foods are nothin, as far as spicy hot goes, in comparison to Sri lankan food. Most of my Western friends, except for two Americans, can't handle them! They can't fathom how we can stomach all those pepper rich dishes. As one of my friends quipped: Lankans probably give their kids peppers instead of pacifiers!

I'd advice the Bull to try out one of the many Sri Lankan restos in Doha. Specially any dish on the menus that says "deviled", and see how it goes!

We probably need to start another thread on hot peppers because i'm an expert on the subject..I live 3 months a year in Mexico so I know peppers. It's what i'm all about.

There is not a hot pepper on this earth that I haven't conquered and i've had em all my friends, in fact i've created a special hybred pepper that will take the paint off your car if you lay one on the hood...I thought I was gonna have to go to the emergency room when I first ate one.

Chicken is available everywhere....

Megamart do whole roasted and grilled chickens for QR13.

Little cafetarias do them, for about the same price.

I think there is Popeye's here... anyone can confirm?

The Petra Restaurant's do whole chickens with Salad and chips (fries) for QR18 - they are really yummy...

u get to pick and buy a live chicken and watch it slaughtered right in front of you and would pay more or less USD 5/- for it. once upon a time about 10yrs back it was less than USD3/- for the same but a little bigger and healthier one.

i think nowadays the poultry fellows are violating underage regulations if any.
