Carrefour and their warranty on cell phones
We bought a cellphone from Carrefour a year ago. It worked up until a few days before the warranty expires. It doesn't want to charge and so off we go to Carrefour to hand in the phone for a service, as the phone is still under warranty according to the invoice.
"No" their manager, of all people say, "we cannot accept the phone under warranty as it expires the next day and we (Carrefour) have to sent it to Dubai for repairs."
So we explain to them that we DID NOT buy the phone in Dubai but in Qatar. "Sorry" he says "can't help u."
Now, were I come from the warranty is valid until the date stipulated on the invoice until midnight. Please people be warned, Carrefour don't comply with their promises or warranties. From now on I would think twice before buying any electronic goods form them.
they suck in computers and electronics, true that they have better prices and thats it.
no aftersales and no customer service. they dont even have time to listen to what customers say.
you are entitled to get one year warranty from the date of purchase. you should go there again and fight for it. try to meet the supervisor or manager there. i guess he could solve it for you.
remember to buy computers and electronics from dedicated showrroms
all those cheap are not good :)
same with me. last I put report that CCC not accepted my laptop warranty will expired in two months, so finally they get lesson. I get brand new laptop without repair.
You should have taken his name and filed a complaint in the Consumer Protection Office near City Centre.
