allen, we have nothing to gain from advising you against the offer but you have much to lose.

You're still a free agent. There will be other agencies and other jobs. Bide your time and choose carefully. Being away from home is difficult enough, don't compound your misery by adding a lousy job offer you got suckered into.

and that should be clearly stated in his contract, or else he will end up paying his accommodation from his basic.

i think that a bit fishy to me IMO. Why they have to wait for 3 mths? If they genuine employer they should give you accommodation as soon as you arrive.

no caps anymore.... i cann't say no to u ... u just ask me .. and i'll do whatever u want..... whenever ,,, wherever... :)

ACTUALLY THE WAGES HERE ARE VARIES ,, AND THERE IS BIG GAP BETWEEN IT.. THE MAIN POINT IS ASK URSELF SIMPLE QUESTION : WHAT IS THE UR LIFE STYLE ? FOR EXAMPLE DO U ACCEPT TO LIVE WITH 15 PERSON IN SMALL APPARTMENT OR WHAT ?? WHATS KIND OF THE FOOD U PREFER ?( FOR EXAMPLE BIG MAC MEAL HERE = QR 15 ) WHAT IS KIND OF CLOTHES U WEAR ?? U WANT TO BUY UR OWN CAR IN THE FUTURE ? SO ITS BASED ON UR LIFE STYLE.... U CAN GET QR 3000 AND U MAY SAVE ... ON THE OTHER HAND U MAY GAIN QR 10,000 AND SAVE NOTHING ... U GOT MY POINT ?

look actually this salary around ( $750) = around QR 2740 ,,,,,

U CANN'T SAVE ANYTHING ,, U CAN BARLEY FIND ACCOMADATION WITH ONE MILLION PERSON IN SMALL APARTMENT BY QR 500 NO WAY LESS THAN THIS NUMBER ,,,IN ADDITION THE FOOD ... AND OTHER STUFF.... SO THE OFFER IS NOT ATTRACTIVE AT ALL... DON'T ACCEPT ANY OFFER LESS THAN QR 5000 ( $1= QR3.65) EVEN THIS FIGURE U CAN BARELY SAVE SOME...

GOOD LUCK... ALLEN

If you signed any job contract next time, read the contract carefully and make sure that it has been authenticated from our Labor dept. and Qatar Embassy in Manila, otherwise that contract still not valid in Qatar.

You are worth much more than this allen. If they don't do better stay where you are and tough it out, at least you have family support. They will not allow you to bring your family here for this low salary.

Yes, the agency in the Philippines will be mad if you pull out, because they would have earned commission on placing you into the job.

I think it's not too late to pull out now.

If you have signed the offer letter that is not legally binding. You are only an employee once you have arrived in Qatar and signed the full offer letter.

If your papers haven't yet been processed then you have every right to pull out because that's a disgraceful offer.

take what they are (my opinion as well) advising you, forget it...you cannot go around with that offer let alone live here in Qatar with such offer..

Good day fella...

PM me your email addy, and i will ask my friend who is a GM in an agency in the phils (sending staff here in qatar) to advise you on this. We'll ask how much are the processing fees, so as you'd know.

meanwhile..take it easy.

most of these people giving you advises are filipinos too..so they know very well how life is doing here in Qatar. Yes - it's far too low an offer as per your qualifications stated. Don't rely on promises. Even in writings, you just can't rely on them. Probably a hundred more $ to add on the offer will look more better:)

GOod luck!

"The secretary of the employer, who happens to be a filipina, got mad at me after informing her that i want to abort my papers."

Well Allen you tell her to go work and live in Qatar herself for that amount of money!!! That if you want to be polite …

i've surrender my passport to the agency here in the philippines for processing employment visa and local documentation here.

The secretary of the employer, who happens to be a filipina, got mad at me after informing her that i want to abort my papers.

Do you think i can still get those papers i submitted if i wont proceed/

Yes Allen you are a fool if you sign such a contract and will make your life miserable! Don't trust what you hear, all they say about salary increase and this and that it's just blah blah, sometime in this country they don't honor things written black on white, forget about what they just say!

besides, you're an engineer, you must be selling technical stuff.

the offer is way too low for that position.

as it is too late bec. u already signed the contract, i don't know if you can still back out.

I think you can, if your passport is still with you.

Make up excuses, im sure you can think of a lot.

put that in writing... shld be stated in the contract.

negotiate please..

2,700 + 600= 3300 roughly.

accomm= 750 minimum-bedspace (to share with min. 4 pax)

300 - food allowance, etc. ( i know pinoys are good in 'budgeting')

more or less, your take home is, say 2,200= 28K php.

Man, you can earn that amount in the phils.

and you're stuck with your sponsor, min. 2 yrs.

think about it.

im such a fool to sign that contract without consulting anybody else but just now.Im still confuse if i will or will not proceed.

i know you're name is not "Jose" but that's what i said when I read your offer.

$1 = QAR 3.64; so for the amount you stated, you'll get around QAR 2,730 ONLY???

The accommodation/ room rent is QAR800 (if you could still find one) and what about the food and other necessities?

Would you be getting commissions? If you do, then it's a different story....

Allen,

Life in Qatar is very very Costly these days....rent sky high and all the domestic items prices climbing day by day.

Better to reject this offer and keep trying good companies so will pay u wat u deserve.

Good luck.
