Can a teacher answer these questions pls?
Hi, I am a person planning to make a move towards qatar as a Maths teacher. So, I have some questions.I would be grateful if some one could help me clear my doubts on the following.
Thank you !!!
How many government schools are there in Qatar (approximately) and where are they located?
What would be the typical salary for a government K-12 Mathematics teacher?
What are the school times in government schools and when do the kids go on their vacation?
Do the teachers get paid during the vacation periods?
Is the government syllabus more advanced than a typical INTERNATIONAL curriculum?
Thanks a bunch for your time!
You really seem like a smart and honest guy with good English skills Are you sure this is the best you can do? I really hate for you to struggle for three years. Friend of mine is American and working in education (making 10 times what you are offered plus housing, etc.) and she hasn't been home in two and a half years, although that's illegal, Every time she's up for vacation there comes a new excuse. If this job will help you in the future you may want to go ahead and bite the bullet. But do know you are being taken advantage of and I think that's unfair. And I know it won't get better once your boots are on the ground here.

Hi again... what you are saying is true but its only because of the difference of various economies of different countries. for an example, here in sri lanka,a software engineers starting salary would be around 80 000 rupees. but if you convert the salary im offered into rupees, its around 210 000. but the same way, the cost of living is also very low here in sri lanka as compared to qatar. so... its about finding out whether its worth the move
MM, evidently some nationalities/people are willing to accept terribly low salaries while others are not. This poor guy is getting ripped off by agents and low-balled by the school. It's not that you get paid according to nationality, it's what that nationality will accept. If you see some Westerners, for example, making much more, it's because they won't accept an offer like this one!

thank you!
dont move in here until you find a good, paid-well & satisfying job.
there is much more to consider than what you have mentioned in your post :)
All the best!
Some nationalities are paid extremely unjustified more than the others, so just focus on your own expectaions.
thnx guys for your feedback!
hope Miss-teacher can help ya ?
Salary will depend on your Nationality and Experience.
I know that Sri Lankan's are very good at Maths..:)
Good Luck
