Lostinspace, the agent from whom i took the visa told me that it is a directors visa and will cost more. if we took a helper visa or a salesman visa, it will cost less, but you will not get the benefits of the directors visa (such as family status), and it will be difficult to change profession if i get a higher job if the profession in the visa is labour or something. So I took the directors visa.

And in India it is not rare to take this type of visa to go abroad. And i know other people who went abroad through the same agent.

And about the illegal thing, in the government records' i'm working as a general director in my sponsor's company. I can make use of this position if any need occurs. The only thing is that i will not get a salary. Its just a designation without a job.

I thought about starting a business too. my sponsor gave me the same idea. but I do not know much about Qatar and its local market, so thought of giving myself some time before starting something.should take care of the money also. heard that 51 percent goes to the sponsor and its hard to negotiate with arabs.

And LostInSpace, buying a visa when in India usually cost that much amount. you can ask about it to any Indian in the forum.

how can you say there's nothing fishy about it? the fact that it cost you a lot of money just for a visa, would've made you think about the legality of it...

My case was exactly the same...illegal but widely in practice. Just go for what AbuAmerican advised you. There is a difference between Release order & NOC to work with other company till a limited time period. Once your one year is completed, ask for the release order for sponsorship change.

Normally, people come here on such visa (free) to do some business (same in my case), otherwise there is no point in buying visa for job.

nothing fishy at all, cost me 16000 QAR for the visa, flight expenses and the visa stamping cost another 2200.

First off all there is nothing called free visa , u came here on a directors visa. Free visa is a term used for illegaly sold visas like yours. U shud have came here on a visit visa in da first place. Nyways after what's done is done. Ur best options would be working under ur sponser or digging out noc somehow to get a job somewhere else. U will not even find temporary jobs that easily in Qatar.

U shud have gone 2 Amsterdam or Thailand fo vacation with 180000

I'm facing same problem but my sponsor said me if i want to start business over here it'll be better. It's too much investment. Thx vz but don't be upset inshallah all is well.

All of course being illegal...But why would that bother you? I recomend Male Prosti...You have a degree in computers yet you did not do any research before you came here, $5000.00 for a visa anywere that is surely Illegal....

it occur to you that a freevisa costing QR18000 was a little bit fishy? or have i read your post wrong?

But the company will not give me a letter allowing me to work in any other company for atleast an year. This letter is called the NOC right??? Correct me if I'm wrong.
