How many of you either own / rent a 4x4 here?
I rent a Chevrolet Aveo, and find that is all I need.
Just asking, because there are far too many people wanting 4x4 when they don't need them.
It's the same in the UK!
In most cases 4 X 4 is seen as an Expat Status Symbol.. Please note I said "Most cases"
Also, because of the petrol prices etc, many can enjoy them here and not back home.
I prefer a Pink KIA.
I prefer Sedan or Sports Cars to 4x4 anyday !!!
The best car to use in Doha (yes, I mean the city, not the Qatari desert and beaches) is a White Toyota Landcruiser.
1. The roads are so bad.
2. You can jump through hoops to get there faster, you're not even restricted to the tar road.
3. When you want to U-turn, you don't have to wait for the next round about or traffic lights, you can do it anywhere.
4. When you drive fast and flash the car in front of you they move out of the way.
best to drive a monster truck here, that way, nobody will dare bully you on the road.. ;)

Most of people in Qatar has 4X4 and they even did not put 4X4 in their life. It is just that it is higher than saloon that's it. I am sorry for this.

A 2L 4x4 would be good...if one is not a die hard dune basher.
2L like Honda CRV is economical in its fuel consumption and also the price and also the parking-(Length)-space.
Since you are in a desert 4x4 is a nice option....there is also room for some "action" ;)...unlike a sedan.
Its personal choice...and safer to have a 4x4 in between these land cruisers..
4x4 is good you can drive off road on road.
