Timtam - Incorrect again :-) Unless things have changed drastically post 2005 I don't see how what I say is wrong. I visited the Altona plant during this time, and I still have to ex-colleagues who work there, so I can check my facts if you insist. AFAIK Avalons make up most of their numbers.
PS: Just re-read you post again. South Australia? LOL! Toyota is in Altona, Vic. not SA.
The last car manufacturer in SA, Mitsubishi closed shop in 2005.
See, Daihatsu is not a well-reputed company in Qatar, i dont mean its not good, but its not well reputed like Honda or Toyota. People mostly chose Toyota, so maybe Daihatsu gave the car model thing to Toyota to build and sell for daihatsu, where maybe they have a pps deal(Pay Per Sale), like 50% of the profit (Excluding the cost of making the car and shipping etc.).
Toyota and Honda make boring cars for people that need a vehicle for transporting them from A to B, pople that oves driving don't buy Japanese Cars at all.

Daihatsu is not so big in Qatar but it had top compact cars marketshare in Japan for 2006 and 2007. Honda is at... fifth place?
I like Honda as much as I like Toyota but I don't like the drift of this post...
