Burned to a crisp

Yesterday I went to Dukhan Beach. I decided in order to gain a little colour I would skip the sunblock. Today I am fried to a crisp. Blisters on my back and everything. Showering kills me whatever the temperature of the water. I am so sore and uncomfortable, and full of regret for being so stupid. And because I am a repeat offender, I know this is going to kill for at least another couple of days.

Whats the best way of soothing sunburn people? Yes I have used commercial after sun from the chemists, but it doesn't seem to help at all. :(

Thank you for all your helpful tips guys. In the end I went for another commercial product. Nivea Moisturising After Sun Lotion, with Aloe Vera. And yes this one had a positive effect. I also found sleeping pills helped at night as well. Never... ever.... am I going to be this stupid again :(

I am so sorry to hear it.....but i am also guilty of staying in the sun too long w/out any sunblock. On the other hand after the blistering pain goes away, you'll start to look DAMN HOT with that sun-kissed tan OOOOH LA LAAAAA!!...man i need to sunbathe today! YIPPPY!!!!!! oh, also use Aloe Vera! IT WORKS! Keep us updated on your progress:)

TB, i know this is going to sound stupid but it really works, coming from south africa (where supposedly there is a hole in the ozone) we had a very effective sunburn remedy and it always worked.

In your bath tub put about 200ml of white vinegar and take a nice long lukewarm bath. Not hot cos you will suffer, but lukewarm even cold if you can deal with that.

It works.

use regular flour that we use for making bread or cake its amazing on burns although u should have used from day 1 but its not too late try it. u can put it dry as powder over the burns or even u can mix it with little cold water and cover the pain..

I always use it instead of chemicals.

try it and tell me the result it is amazingly curing

TB, what ever you use, make sure it has NO perfume, colorants or OIL in it.

You can try Bepanthene cream, it is available at the Chemist.

Firstly, I have no symapthy for you :o)

As far as a remedy is concerned..

Aloe Vera plant, cream or lotion is the best - prefferably rubbed on by someone with gentle hands.

Another thing that works is Vineger. Don't know why, but a friend swears by it.

get well soon :o)
