thank you who.am.i ! will let my other half knows ... I might need to pick your brain up again sometimes before we going to Budapest and ask more tips.
Picking up my guide book on Tuesday from tallg, i am sure after i read those i will have more question coming your way ! :)
Best Western Hungaria is a good hotel and the location of the hotel is not seedy, though I won’t recommend the hotel for tourists. Why? There’s not much to see in the vicinity. I have nothing to complain about the hotel. There’s no problem with the transportation, I think the metro and bus station is a few-minute walk from the hotel and can take you to the center of the city. As for Ibis Budapest Centrum, the location is great. Raday, Ibis’ location, has a good access to charming but inexpensive restaurants and a number of shops in the sidewalk. Weather won’t be too hot on April so there will be no difficulty walking. There’s another Ibis I know near the Heroes’ Square that I recommend. The location is accessible too; near some pretty cool museums though there’s not much restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. The Carlton Hotel, Atrium and Domina Inn Fiesta are gorgeous and affordable (around €70-80) hotels too! Well, just pick the Ibis Centrum. (:
Hotel Victoria is located on the Buda side, directly on the riverside of the Danube. As the facility is equipped with large panoramic windows, one can enjoy the spectacular view on the city from all rooms. The hotel is truly an attractive location as it is situated directly in the neighbourhood of the Buda Castle, within 10 minutes walk from the Matthias Church. The city centre, the business and financial quarter of town is also within easy reach, walking distance.
so who.am.i, since you mentioning that u used to be resident of Budapest, can you recommend affordable hotel with location in the middle and within walking distance of shops and metro.
We thinking about staying in Best Western Hungaria Hotel, after we asked around we being told that the location where the hotel is very popular as a seedy area.
Now we thinking about Ibis Budapest Centrum, what do u think about the hotel?
No, no, used to be a resident of Hungary but I'm not Hungarian. Well, cruising Danube at night is lovelier and more romantic with all those shimmering lights, just like the Eiffel at night. Haha! :P
You and your family should opt for Danube view properties. Take pictures and enjoy the view at the Danube River. Its lovely and enjoy the fresh air. River cruising along Danube is the best. It departs from the chain bridges, its a popular place so you won't get lost. Hungarians aren't rude so you won't have a hard time talking to them asking for directions. Trust me Novi, Danube cruise is a must! Well, just like any other European countries, there are historical sites everywhere. See the Parliament building, Heroes Square, Chain Bridge, The Royal Palace, Terror House, etc.
Your son might love the Budapest Zoo (my son did), its way better than Doha Zoo (only costs around QR25) and the Children's Railway is quite enjoyable too.
If you're craving for authentic French food, dine at Le Bourbon in Le Meridien Budapest and again, marvel around their gorgeous bathrooms. Spas in Budapest are as divine as the spas in Vienna. You and hubby will love the Rudas bath. Fausto's is an inexpensive Italian restaurant in Utca. And as for shopping, WestEnd Shopping Center is a nice mall. Lastly, you might want to drop by at Budagyongye(sp?) and choose from their wide selection of wines. I could give you Mr. Katusak's number who works for one of the hotel chains in Budapest.
P.S. Asked the Hungarians about the World's Most Beautiful McDonalds. ;P
Qatar's winter months are brimming with unmissable experiences, from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 and a variety of outdoor adventures and cultural delights.
