The BOOK of ELI
By shahzad_14 •
I have watched this movie with my friends and we all have almost different thoughts about this MOVIE...?
What do you guys think about this movie..?
It can be a good and healthy discussion if we want to.
It speaks about loads of Aspects of TODAYS LIFE....
Give your comments and based on that we can have some discussion.
Hope to have a thundering Tuesday..
From the start, it is predictable that the book is about the bible that gives power and skill to the bearer. That this book should be delivered to the right person situated in the West . The bearer protects the book from anyone who wishes to take it especially from Gary Oldman who desperately needs the book to rule the town. The movie wants to convey a message that a bible is very important in rebuilding America to bring back its civilization with respect to the rule of law and above all to the rule of God.
quite disappointed with the movie. i was expecting a full action-type, fiery, mind-guessing movie from denzel washington. bad movie for denzel.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy....Martin Luther King
i didn't see it yet , but if denzel stars in it then im 100% sure that it's a great movie!!!

I'm Jack's complete lack of surprise
Personally I found The Road to be a much more realistic portrayal of what life after the apocalypse would be like, whereas the Book of Eli was just another motorbike riding, shoot em up, Mad Max...except not as fun to watch.

Just be prepared to be depressed, but it's worth it. For me after I watched it I was like "why the hell did I watch that movie?" but then I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

It was mainly focusing on the bible as a book which gives the secret power.
I think the intinsion of the movie is to let American christians and non American christians sticks to the bible again, as many young people in USA started to deviate from the bible and not stick to the bible values, and most probably the director of the movie wanted to send a message to the young American generation on the importance of the bible.
This is really very good step from the director.
this movie is not worth watching. better watch An Education :)
i already have a copy of the The road, thanks for the heads up olive

"I know I am not PERFECT but I am ALWAYZ ME & that is something YOU can COUNT on FOREVER"
Well watch it and draw your own opinions mjamille, those are just mine. Some might like it.
Again though, if you really want to watch a movie that will make you think, watch "The Road". It's a pretty mentally taxing movie though, so be prepared. Honestly I had nightmares after I watched it.

"I know I am not PERFECT but I am ALWAYZ ME & that is something YOU can COUNT on FOREVER"
If you view it as a movie, like I said, it's a rip off of Mad Max. Not an original thought or idea in it. The plot was predictable and I thought the "message" if you could call it that, to be a bit trite and rather naiive.
I didn't like it.

Its on number 5 at box office.
How was it?
I cant rate this movie good or bad
If you just take it as a movie it is good but if you want to see that what actually they tried to showcase then i did not like it.
"I know I am not PERFECT but I am ALWAYZ ME & that is something YOU can COUNT on FOREVER"
A bad rip off of Mad Max. If you want to see a good post-apocalypse movie watch "The Road"
