Black Gold...

Such insight from the Film critcs of QL!!!!

Well I duly paid my QR35 today, sat back and enjoyed 2 and half hours of pretty good movie - its not an epic but with a cast that includes Banderas and Mark Strong, you know its going to be pretty good - and it was - PRETTY good - no more, no less. By the way, for the avoidance of doubt, it was shot at locations in Qatar and Tunisia - it is in my opinion worth seeing on the big screen rather than waiting for the pirate copy or 4 months for the official QR95 official DVD.

its an Arab movie,set in the 1930s Arab states at the dawn of the oil boom,the story centers on a young Arab prince torn between allegiance to his conservative father and modern,liberal father in law...only some actors are not arabs. :)

It's not an Arabic movie, the director is French, the actors are Indian, Canadian and American, it was shot partly, in the Gulf.

I have heard about this movie and I hope I will get a chance to watch this soon.

i would prefer to watch it first then if its good,gonna buy a DVD copy of it coz am collecting good arabic movies like The Kingdom,Syriana,Body of Lies etc...

I saw it at the Film Festival. It was a real old-style epic. Decent film but certainly not brilliant. Certainly worth a watch.
