These looters are targeting mostly miskeens only.so that they can utilize their nervousness and inability to get their rights.

Ahh...imagine a "Miskeen Khaarji" asking for ID card from a real CEID Personnel. That would be a disaster.

the ID and if he refuse so just dial 999 and call the police.......

the things are also going unreported due to the lose of faith in the police itself, due to the mannerisms and behavior they have...... the treatment itself.

Be always careful.never walk alone in night, be careful when picking a fake taxi,do not keep more money as cash in your wallet, careful when wearing ornaments.and i prefer run faster than fighting with the looters to save the life.

Qatar is a peaceful and safe place. These types of incident (pick pocketing) are very common across the globe.

About fake CID, if anyone is ever approached by someone claiming to be a CID. Don't be scared simply ask him for his CID card.

If he shows you then ok, else punch him down ;-) and call the police immediately.

in qatar steeling, looting, cheating are increasing very

speedily. before 2 week one person went to send money to his home through some money exchange. he open his purse to bring out his id card. after that he put his purse again on his pocket. when he went to cash counter he saw there was no purse on his pocket and also no money(5500 qr). after that he claimed to the exchange authority. they open their hidden camera and found one african person was steeling his purse when he put back on his pocket. they gave him 3 pictures of that person and told him to go to police. but it's really hard to get the person and money back....

it's real experience just before 2 weeks ago.

so everyone be careful all the time.

don't go out at late night and don't drive alone on the street at late night.

be careful be safe be happy!!!

Real CID will always show their ID Card first once they will approach you. There is nothing wrong to ask them ID, they dont mind it if they are real CID personnel.

And would everybody recognize a fake one from a real one?

I for one, have never seen a CID badge...so I would have no idea what to look for.
