Beware of AUTO CARE shops!
Thursday night, I changed all my car tyres and later went to an auto care shop for computer wheel alignment .Minor corrections were made and I paid the agreed amount .When I asked for receipt and printout of my payment and alignment readings ,the shopkeeper said due to some printer problem I cannot get it.I took out my car and noticed abnormality while testing on road.I immediately returned to the shop and the mechanic road tested the car while doing correction few times by trial and error method.I asked the mechanic to put my car back to the machine to check for any abnormality in readings. He said since it's already late I should come back on Saturday .
Today i.e Saturday when I went back,the shopkeeper asked for more money ,I asked his previous job is not yet complete .He insisted on receipt copy which he did not issue earlier or pay up.
I reminded him his words and he said he issued me receipt .This guy immediately turned violent and it was after sometime I realized what really happened.
He might have pocketed the money ,the reason for not issuing me a reciept.
I felt cheated and humiliated by by this guys honesty ,if he had any.

Thanks for the info....those tyre shops around mid Mac - wouldn't trust any. The Bridgestone branded shop had a real attitude. Just walked away.
Angelo, most Karwa drivers have to pay a daily rent/charge for the car. Their earnings are what the customers pay. It is up to you to request for a receipt - they pocket all the earnings anyways.
On some days they earn Qar 10 or so as the daily rate Mowasalat charges is really high.

if you reporting the consumer protection dept.i don't think to getting any action soon.pls inform to all that work shop name and area also.it will help to others.
Already called Consumer protection Dept,Just preparing to send them details.
THANKS to all QLrs for your support and guidance,I will continue following up with CPD to minimize such incidents and scrupulous traders behavior and bad practices taking guile customers for a ride.

Don't let it go, report to consumer protection people, you may not get your money back, but don't take it lying down. Talk to manager, write a written report, write to newspaper etc.
Sorry, please let me make a correction to my statement of Karwa taxi.
I am sure that not all do that and there are some honest blocks.
avam, do you know the story of the Karwa taxi drivers, Since the pay is poor, they charge you for the ride and pocket the money if you dont need the receipt.
I suppose the poor pay makes people take desparate measures. I am not saying it it right, but that appears to be what happened.

It's no coincidence that it happened to me on first right turn of Midmac Flyover roundabout while going to salwa from Doha.
As long as money keeps coming in the pockets from innocent customers ,it's AUTO CARE or WHY2 CARE.
