Beware of Al-Emadi Hospital
Had severe abdomen pain, rushed to their emergency. Kept waiting till I got attended too. Ultrasound and Urine test was done.
As per their reports, it was a normal pain int he colon , i was sent home with pain killers.
The pain was still the same even after 2 hours, rushed to AL- AHLI 2 around 2 am.
Has a proper check up done by a decent doctor who first gave me a pain killer into my blood to find the source of pain.Had time to listen to me and did understand and let me speak. He was not sure but did expect it to be appendicitis so was sent for a CT scan.
And Yes, extream case of appendicitis where every layer of my appendix was swollen and I had to be operated immediately.
Consequences could have been worse if I did not take a second opinion.
Have nothing against any one. But just beware friends.
If you go to Hamad, they will cut you open for practice (student doctors). If you go to other private hospital, they will cut you open for money. The good thing about Hamad is, even if you die it will be for free and for a noble cause...........cheers.
I wonder if the owner of the van applies the same standards on his drivers as he is suppose to enforce on the driving public?
This is unbelievable! They really don't realize how important health is? Some friends of mine also complained that they were not treated well in hospitals but it never happened to me so it was hard to believe. Lucky me I have a good health. Anyway, I usually go to private hospitals. Last time when I had to see specialists was because I wanted to look better and the solution was obvious: liposuction Houston! It wasn't something vital.
But the Q was looong and so I requested the reception to give me some priority as the pain is miserable. They replied " every body has some or other problem , so you have to wait" But yes I do agree HAMAD is nice.
huh!? how did you know that?
Have you ever met a professional Doctor in Qatar?????!!!!
Your comment is astonishing. I thought it's well known to everybody that the doctors available here are the ones who couldn't achieve anything back home.
Hamad is the best for severe and complicated emergencies, but for relatively routine stuff (including the usual sorts emergencies like the appendix) Al Ahli is the best choice.
They have best doctors and long quest for waiting but still you get the accurate diagnose.
It s all about your luck when you reached the hospital and the person/doctor who you met even you paid any amount of money. I don't know much about Al Emadi Hospital.I have very bad and good experience from Al Ahaly hospital during my wife's pregnancy and after delivery, but their Gynecology doctors are the best in Qatar....
You have to carefully pick & choose docs in this part of the world . I find only the Emadi OB/gyn clinic is good there, even the emergency GP's are not that great.Actually,it's better going to Al Ahli straight with no doubt if u have to ''choose'' between thease 2 hospitals for any serious health issue.
As i said, this post is only to get people more alert..
U can carry on going to Al-Emadi. I have no issues with that. Al-Ahli did not do my treatment for free either and have nothing personal against Al-Emadi.
Just sharing my experience.
I have an answer to each question of yours but prefer taking it offline and yes the white blood cells count was more.
Put the injection never killed the pain though it did decrease it to minimum.
Cheers!!
I thought. This country doesn't have unprofessional doctors. But surprised. Thanks for the info,Perfect Stranger.I'll think twice before going to Al Emaadi hospital.
I am not a doctor, and I don't know, was it right or wrong. I know one thing. Al Emadi cares only about your money, nthing else. They are not attentive and careless. I had disgusting experience with Al Emadi. And I had very good experience with Al Ahli. I think in general Al Ahli is the best clinic in Doha so far..
Did you actually see your appendix after it was removed or did you trust them to tell you it was; 'where every layer of my appendix was swollen and I had to be operated immediately'.

The Appenidix is either infected or it is not; there are no layers.
You also said. 'gave me a pain killer into my blood to find the source of pain.

An IV injection of analgesia does not find the 'source of the pain' it kills all pain.
Now, in the past I have praised Al Ahli - I like them. I think they do a good job - for a person to be diagnosed with Appendicitis the white blood cell count has to be high with a swollen appendix - are you sure Al- Ahli was right and Al Emadi was wrong?
I have had great experiences with both these hospitals. So I am at a loss to see why you knock one when only because you got operated on in one makes that the better hospital :-/
Al-Emadi Hospital! Noted. TFS
