Beaches and Dogs

omg... we have a forum talking about the cuteness of dog pooo... (ghor kalyug)

People at Wahkra seem to believe that what the tide takes away never existed, that includes all the fast food paper/plastic trash, condoms, and, wait for it, dog sh!t.

If you brought it with you pick it up and dispose of it in the receptacles provided (and they are provided at the beach).

i don't have a dog here and i've never taken any of my dogs back home to the beach, but doesn't sand make dog poo dry up easily and decompose more naturally? correct me if i'm wrong, but i personally believe having the dog poop in a secluded beach area not frequented by people and burying it properly is better than having to put it in non-biodegradable plastic for further disposal in the trash bin.

whenever we have sand available back home we cover up dog poo in our yard with sand to get rid of the smell right away and make it dry up. it will then be easier to clean it up to bury it in the soil. our garbage collectors complain and sometimes refuse to take our garbage bags if they smell dog poo in them.

What is wrong with you tigabaguio? I just don't get some people's humour...

Are you sure it's dog poo? I remember seeing plenty of soiled nappies on the beach too...

Doha Daisy - u are right...every pet owner is responsible for their dog or cat or what ever they adopt & we must make it a practice not to be a burden to any one!

Wakrah beach is a known dumping ground for people abandoning their dogs, knowing that many animal lovers go there, and they hope someone will pick the dog up....

i have an advantage though..

i think some pooh's are from abandoned and stray dogs..

i love picking up my dogs pooh.. its soft and warm..

Good thread Doha Daisy, I'm a dog owner and I totally agree with your statement. People should always carry mini plastic bags so they can pick up their dog's dookies, wherever they go.
