Be careful and look after your house

Dear friend not all people are the same, when you bring a house maid please always be fair with her and show respect give her the slary on time.
I always believe that when you treat the house maid in a good way you will always be on the safe side, but when you become bad she might harm you or your family in some way by stealing or other things and some can perform black magic.
What do we loose when we become good with house maids?
Nothing instead they will be good and they can be trusted, I always believe you will be treated in the same way you treat others.

I wish I can trust the maid 100% but I have experienced first hand cases of theft

The sentence"Once a thief, always a thief." is outdated because it is showing no mercy.

How about giving what the maid is entitled to, as agreed at the start of the contract - day off, vacation, hours of work, ticket home, whatever it might be? Just not holding back on what was promised.

And perhaps not giving much more than what can be reasonably expected from one's madame - you don't want to appear like you have more money than sense. After all, money is not a motivator (though lack of it is a definite demotivator) and treating someone generously is not a known cure for thieving. Once a thief, always a thief.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, but keep a wary eye and a baseball bat handy.

Good subject for a bash.

I totally agree. There's always a limit to someone's trust. It happens to me where I come from. Taking advantages over kindness.

Not always.

We has a housemaid that worked for us for more than 10 years, we helped her in all ways such helped her built her house back where she came from (not naming the country). We supported her children, and we also gave her all what she needs here in Qatar such as free mobile phone, brand new cloths and so on .. We also used to book her business class ticket when she goes off holidays back to her country.

At the end, we found out that she stole more than QR200,000 worth of items and money too

Yes, not everyone is the same. But this story has been repeating itself everywhere in Doha!
