Basic Infrastructure vis-a-vis Games Infrastructure

US$ 2 Billion for the Asian Games Infrastructure!!??

How much of these will be in use AFTER the games?

I have a small wish-list for Qatar:-

a) Secure Overhead Bridges or Underpasses for Pedestrians at all Malls and Supermarkets.

b) Street Lamps on Roads from Doha to DUkhan, Messaied, and other districts

c) Wider Roads in Central Doha, Al Sadd, NAjma and other populated areas

d) Shaded Car Parks in the areas above. More designated car parks atleast...

e) Govt Decree on regulated rent. Immediate lowering of all rents by atleast 30% (tall order???)

f) Beautification efforts of all beaches by the Govt. (I have been a part of 'clean the beaches' drives by some local expat organizations...but these will not be enough!. )

Others in Qatar Living can surely add more such 'To Do' lists.
