Barwa Terminations

Does anyone know if it is true that Barwa Real Estate is having a bad time now and terminating hundreds of people? I have friends there and they got terminated. As far as they said, over 100 staff were terminated in the last 2 weeks and 200 staff will be terminated before Eid.

They say that lots of thier projects have lost and some of thier sister companies either closed or emerged.

Also, I have been told that they will emerge with Iqaria very soon.

What all of that means?

contructing 2million accomodation for 1.7million population will surely lead to this. however, i aint still sure about Barwa crisis.

The property market has saturated. When there is no more company income, retrenchment is the answer

I think these are some factors:

1- Recession.

2- Qatarization.

3- Re-Structuring and emerging companies, which is mainly a result of recession.

I also heared that they are terminating hundreds in Barwa. But I read in Gulftimes that they will open recruiting again in Barwa and many other organization.

I think they are planning to terminate those who they think are costing them much and then hire new staff with lower salaries.

But I can tell you that the crisis has reached Qatar!

Every single day, I am hearing of terminations, specially in non-profit generating departments like PR, Marketing, HR...

Where I work, 6 employees (specialy managers with high salarieS) got terminated from one department for "crisis reasons"

I am on the list, I heard rumours about it...
