Barwa City - Hidden Charges

haq87
By haq87

People who are thinking of moving in Barwa City .. please be aware that there will be a charge every month of 600+ riyals every month for AC and hot water (for 2 bedroom flat). and 800+ riyals for 3 bedroom flat.

which you will have to pay any how as there is a vague kind of clause in the tenancy contract (clause 12).

Check this before you think to move to barwa city

Waseef Maintenance Issues. I doont know how many of them are affected by this , But lets form a consensus and raise serious issues that can be requested to rectified without any charge. For eg, 10-12 years old split AC are asked to be repaired at tenants cost. There is no AMC or Preventive maintenance for critical components. Kindly signin and update your complaints via https://forms.gle/EhJb61R5Y8YbbnuN7. Kindly forward the link to all concerned whatsapp groups as well.

These cheap rentals seem to be a scam with these additional costs that come up... is there a government body that you can lodge complaints to?

I recently received bill for 7 days it is having three components:

1. chilled water consumption (based on some meter reading) @0.21 per unit

2. Chilled water Demand charges @ 240 Per Month

3. Gas/Water Heating Charges @ 176 Per Month

I couldn't really understand all.

I think water all the charges we have to pay to Waseef and only for electricity we have to register with Kaharama. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also the bill is indicating something at top Annual Capacity Rate as QAR 800.

1. Can anyone help me to understand all this.

2. Do I need to go to Kaharama for changing the electricity only or water also.

3. What is the deposit amount I have to pay at Kaharama.

Hi all...

to get this topic running again I have a few questions since I'm planning to move to Barwa City soon - 2 bedroom unfurnished apartment with Waseef in upcoming weeks...

1. Rent is 5.105 QR/month

somebody mentioned "4750 +355 and then they merged both and said 5100 including AC and Hot Water" so I just wanted to be sure that there are no other hidden charges except Kahramaa Electricity and Water... and Vodafone internet of course. Can somebody please cofirm that.

2. Gas is free???

Can somebody please cofirm that.

3. Apartments have their own meters for Electricity and Water and what we heard the cost for 2-bedroom apartment is max 200 QAR.

Can please someone confirm that.

4. With Waseef, deposit when signing the contract is equal to 1-month rent or 2-month rent???

5. When are they planning to open any of localstores, pools or anything since we saw that everything looks dead at the moment.

Thank you all.

Hey ppl, what is the price for a 3 bedroom apartment in Barwa City? Is it worth moving there from Ezdan Villages in Al Wakair? There I pay 4.5K, all inclusive, whatever 'all' means: Crappy furniture, poor Internet speeds, dirty pool and gim, constant parking problems...

In Barwa City it wouldn't be less than 7K? Is it worth that extra money?

I hear the management is stupid... they keep telling the kids to keep the cycles inside their houses... and not to park the cycles near the buildings even on the outside...

Its ok to park car... but not cycles?!?!? ... they even confiscated some of the kids cycles...

how does it matter to them where the cycles are unless its not obstructing something? Then why are they making the cycle paths? Height of Stupidity?

I just spoke to Barwa Call Center and apparently there will be some extra charges later. The staff was not sure when.

This is not acceptable at all as they did not mention this when I signed the contract.

I will speak to the management and will not keep silent if this happened.

605 riyals for 2 bedroom apartment plus water bill plus electricity.

I have never ever seen such charges for a rented apartment. These kind of charges are always paid by the landlord.

I hear Kahramaa bill both Electricity and Water total to about a maximum of QR 170 per month.

Gas is free.

Hotwater 24x7.

Dust sealed.

Double sided glass windows for heat insulation to preserve A/C

AC free. except in June July Aug the hotter months. rest of the months you dont really need to switch on your house ac. In winter it is kinda cold...

check with them whether you will have to pay for AC, hot water, etc. then they would tell you about the vague clause!

QAR 600 per month for a 2 bedroom flat is very high: the real cost will be half.

600QR for E&W is waaaaay too much for a two bedroom flat. It appears to be as a result of a very sneaky clause and should be contested. Have you tried talking to the other tenants? What does the company have to say? Just cos they haven't been competent enough in getting meters fixed, doesn't mean others have to pay for it!

Intially it was 4750 +355 and then they merged both and said 5100 including AC and Hot Water. 5100 will be untill they fix a meter for E&W. So now that means people needs to Pay 5100 + 600 everymonth for 2 Bedroom??

I signed the contract with them 2 weeks back and it is saying 5100 for the rent. i gave them the checks so they cannot increase the amount before one year

Hi

One of my jobs was to commission those buildings ready for occupancy.

The problem there is both the hot water and AC are provided from a single heating and cooling supply on the rooftop.

Therefore they cannot measure the individuals usage.

The only item they can measure is your domestic water and electricity as they have individual flat meters.

Before anyone asks, yes, if someone is at home all day the others will pay a portion of this but the occupiers' electricity will be higher because of running the fan coil units (3 in each apartment)

Regards
