BAD BODY ODOR IS VERY DISTRURBING

I am really annoyed with some people who have BAD , SMELLY body odor which is very unpleasant.

Sometimes I want to admonish them, but sometimes there is still a sense of respect.
but over time it becomes repulsive.
I think those people are a slob and never want correct their appearance.
They do not appreciate the courtesy and cleanliness in public.

I think most of you experienced similar things.
should we create a society which opposes body odor? or maybe the government makes its own rules ... I hope.

Yes no merci, some use the "vynil record" technique:

Once side A is done, they turn to side B until both start looking like a metro pass. LOOOOOLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

yeah, people who stinks didnt realize that they stink as they are already immune to that smell :P

Least you can do is tell that person upfront that he/she smells really bad :(

I am up for that anti body odor society that you are suggesting.. lol :P

In my opinion parents should develope the habit of personal hygiene from the very early stage of their kids because if someone has a practice of staying clean from his childhood he can not bear with sweat and bad odor for a single moment...

I guess they were not only paying me for the work I did but also for putting up with this guys disgusting stench.

There are many reasons for body odour. Some do not realise they have it, some cannot do anything about it and some don't give a damn.

Cupid's Victim, I couldn't agree with you more

Its not about the food we eat,its about how we discipline ourself to be clean, coz no matter what we eat those spicy foods and after we clean our mouth very well, taking a bath regularly and using deodorant as well, helps minimize the smell or have good smell.

I think the food that cause a bad odor is becoming an alibi. I mean if a person takes a bath everyday, he'll feel fresh & won't sweat often. What more if he takes a bath twice a day considering "food odor" that to much sweating problem would be solve too...

The lady sitting on my left smells of fish when she talks and the guy on the right adds some curry flavour to it when he sweats...:)

well, jokes apart, in addition to be clean and hygienic, we should drink a lot of water, eat moderate spices and chillies and exercise everyday to keep our vitality strong. Sedentary lifestyle reduces vitality and allows germ build-up in moist areas around the orifices.

FathimahH brough a valid point on Islam and the importance of being hygienic.

I have noticed that Qataris are always well presented and groomed, how come they are not enforcing Sharia at its fullest? ;-)

I agree with your point, regardless of the ruling on cleanliness in Islam, many people in Qatar tend to overlook the same.

It would be nice to have a pleasant environment to be in , instead of having to back off with the stench they emit.

That maybe the case too. Actually in Islam it is made impermissible to even go to the masjid with bad breath following eating onions and garlic so yes if we feel a certain type of food makes us smell bad(and not everyone will get affected the same way all the time) then we should avoid it. Its common courtesy and of good character to avoid being offensive to others. Pity people don't get this.

personal hygiene is a must but if am not mistaken its the food that we eat that causes body odor, even u bathed yourself 2 times a day and u got perspired the smell will always reveal, some of them dont know that they smell stinks!!!!

Considering that cleanliness is actually considered a part of our faith it's most disturbing to find so many people emitting so much stench that one needs to stay a mile away from them. After all as long as they have access to water and can afford a simple toothbrush and toothpaste,do they have any excuse for smelling so bad?

Even some well educated people do not care about this one. Human body has its odor which is more offensive than it is pleasing. As we age, our aroma gets more nasty. All human orifices smell if not adequately cleaned.

It is very difficult to make the people realize though. Be it out of courtesy or anything. And they themselves hardly ever realize coz the sense of smell is the one with the quickest period of desensitization and acclimatization. They never even know!

I always carry paper fan, with few drops of my favorite perfume in my bag. So when odor is irresistible using it by smelling it. Trust me! It helps!

I agree with you, no matter the various occasions I considered telling them, the diplomacy in me wouldn't heed to it. As a result had to put up with the stench.

But I did present one guy with a perfume and joked that the work place would smell good from the following day ;)

A quick shower before going out, use of deodorant and a few drops of perfume are recommended strategies...but how to convince :(

A staff working under me collapsed as she couldn't tolerate the stench emitted by her colleague.

I have on many occassions maintained a distance from my boss coz the moment he opens his mouth to talk the place starts stinking and one is tempted to puke.

Luckily I am no longer with them.

Sure go ahead tell them. This people can be dirty and smelly in and around their places or where they live (ten to a room) or where they come from but when they want to mix around or go to a public place they should know how to behave and present themselves. We just cannot allow this guys to spoil the atmosphere and the well being of others by their dirty and careless habits and attitude.
