Napalmed: Steven Barker, partner of Tracey Connelly, the mother of abused toddler Baby Peter serving a 12 year prison term for his part in the toddlers murder

Steven Barker, the stepfather of abused infant Baby P has been scalded in an attack by a fellow prisoner.

Another inmate at Wakefield prison, where Barker is serving his 12-year jail term, hurled boiling water at Barker, leaving him screaming in pain.

Some reports claimed it had been a concoction of water and sugar, which sticks to the skin and intensifies burns in the same way as napalm bombs.

But the Ministry of Justice today said no sugar had been involved.

Barker who stands 6ft 4in, suffered excruciating burns to his face and arms and will be left scarred for life following the attack.

Fellow inmates applauded as he was ambushed, according to The Sun.

One told the paper: 'To say Barker is disliked is an understatement - he is reviled. The other inmates all hate him with a passion.

'When Barker came here every one knew what he had done to Baby P. Your card is marked if you have a crime against your name concerning kids.

'After the attack everyone was in good spirits, knowing someone had hurt Barker. The guy who did it will be getting applauded every-where he goes now.

'It will be seen as a badge of honor and it is just a matter of time before someone else takes a shot at Barker too'.

Officers at the high-security jail in West Yorkshire were rushed to the scene to calm things down.

Lock up: Barker was attacked at Wakefield prision where he is serving time for the murder of Baby P

The source said: 'He had been awaiting a chance to strike and went for it when one arose.
Baby P

'He was prepared to take the consequences for getting one over on Barker.

'He deliberately chose the hot water and sugar combination as it inflicts the most damage and it can cause scarring.

'It's almost inevitable the victim will need medical help.'

Barker was jailed at the Old Bailey in May last year for contributing to the 50 injuries tragic baby Peter suffered in his short life.

The child had been horrifically abused in the house his mother Tracey Connelly shared with Barker in Tottenham, North London.

Connelly is serving a minimum of five years for causing or allowing Peter's death.

Barker's brother Jason Owen, who was a lodger in the council house, was also jailed.

Last month, Barker lost his appeal against a further conviction for raping a girl of two.

Prison Service sources denied there was sugar in the boiling water used in Wednesday's attack.

A Prison Service spokesman said: 'A prisoner at HMP Wakefield was assaulted by another.

'Staff intervened quickly and the prisoner received treatment. Police have been informed.'

I am appalled to learn that the monsters who brutally murdered an infant are only serving 12 years and 5 years in jail. These freaks have no right to live and should be given death penalty!!

The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.

I should imagine that will not b the last attack on him, i have friends who have been to prison for various reasons, and they all say the same Child molesters and child killers are marked men from the day they get inside.

Prison gaurds are known to tip off prisoners if a 'nonce' is new in prison and it begins from there.

Lets face it if your serving life it isn't going to matter if you dish out some retribution is it....

I would say its about time someone tried to gut Ian Huntley (the guy who killed Hollie and Jessica) he needs to burn in hell along with all the others like him...

I never wish bad on anyone, but for him, I'll make an exception, I hope the other prisoners have more attacks lined up for him!

Mr Barker should be hung by the neck until dead --- simple as that --- same should be done to all of his kind who the human race has no need or time for!!

Five years for his horrific crimes and murdering a two year old. What sort of justice is that? I think death is too easy for him, his inmates should continue to torture him for those five years and then kill him just before hes due to be released so that he doesnt get the chance to be near any kids.

I don't feel sorry for him. I think he should be tortured by his fellow inmates more often. Death is to good for this a**hole.

Some killers are physcology illness for killing and by killing these killers you eliminate the possibility of letting him kill again.

For example a killer may be sent for 30 years in jail and there could be either very high possibility to kill again or very small possibility of killing or not killing, so as you can see possibility of killing is two times of not killing, and by killing the killer you are sure that you will save others people lives.

The authorities are the ones who are responssible to kill the killer and not you.

UkEngQatar, that's true. And so legal systems which are so advanced tend to protect criminals. But overall, better to have that system in place rather than to put away the innocent.

A pity that criminals get away with finding the loopholes in the legal system. As I said before, there are ALWAYS pros and cons to every situation.

Tortured etc Baby P plus

"Last month, Barker lost his appeal against a further conviction for raping a girl of two."

What a sicko! Preying on defenceless children. He deserves all that's coming around to him and more... being preyed upon and the psychological trauma of living in fear for the rest of his jail time ... no one would pity him.

GodFather.

Guess what is coming next..

He will sue the prison services for not protecting him and will get a huge sum from the prison services as a compensation, plus free medical treatment at the expensive of the tax payer.

So a bit of pain will land him a huge sum of money for his stay at Her Majesty Pleasure.

I understand partially what the prisoner did, and I paritially agree on the punishment of the prisoner.

Guys what do you think should be the proper punishment for Mr. Barker?
