Who will ever need that kind of speed??

VEYRON GT DETAILS EMERGE?
New car could have 1350bhp and 1018lb-ft of torque

It's been common knowledge for a while that there will be a faster Veyron arriving at some point, probably in the form of a limited edition run-out model. But according to reports a leaked official document now gives more detail on the 'Veyron GT'.

According to the memo the GT will basically be a standard Veyron with more power and some minor mods. The numbers being thrown around are 1,350bhp and 1,018lb-ft of torque. These new stats should make the car good for 262mph.

The document claims the car will also be fitted with upgraded carbon-ceramic brakes, a new electronic stability program, and a new active aerodynamics package. 0-60mph will take just 2.4 seconds and the car will go back to zero in 2.2 seconds. The car is expected to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year and apparently current owners will be able to retro-fit the mods to their standard Veyron.

The memo comes from website Nine-to-Five and is yet unconfirmed, but you can see it below.

I've had (amongst others) an Alpina, a Merc 300E 24 valve & an M5. Used to run a 323i around a track back in Oz as well (had a Group 2 license). Now a mere Infiniti...

try to find them, Torque, must be in some carton, maybe my wife knows. We've been moving a lot lately. But yes, I went as "straight" as possible with the Impala from Duesseldorf to Barcelona in 10 hours only slowing down to pay the highway tolls in France. Of course, a solid rear axle is not a sensible device, but it is strong.

The beauty definitively is the torque, the problems were the "siamesed" cylinders. Problem to overbore them. Sometimes cooling probs. But there is no substitute for the fun of rebuilding such a thing and then driving it.

To be honest I prefer the European cars.. I had a Camaro Z28 in Saudi.. It was superb in straight line, but really tacky inside..

Would love to try a charger / challenger as in The Bullet.

brit, you picked up the post before I edited it so had chance to see the Highline....lol, realised the facebook pics gave up my name..., hence the edit! ;-)

The 3.0 CSL a stunner, you never know, there might be something tucked away out here, certainly in Dubai plenty of locals collect cars, but keep them in their collections & rarely show them, although Moh'd Bin Sulayem does from time to time.

Never driven a muscle car as such MD, bet that was fun to drive in a straight line, cornering a bit bouncy??

Got any pics????

Sh*t, I left my 1972 Impala with that orange Chevy Smallblock, 400 cid 4-bolt mains, in Duesseldorf after 2 years of Restoration from scratch. Sniff.

I used to have a 635 CSI.. Always wanted a lightweight "Batmobile" , but couldn't fford the insurance..

Now I've got a 1964 Jaguar MKii 3.4 ans an old 1973 Alfa Romeo 2.0 GTV Veloce..

Can't beat the old cars for fun..

I do love speed MD, but prefer corners taken quickly to straight-line speed, the latter bores me a little, bit dodgy to try out here anyway with all the idiots never knowing where they're going to go, regardless of indicators or not!

Fully understand & applaud your reasoning!

We'll have a car catch-up when I get back from Corfu MD!

Bravo, Torque. That means we should have one thing in common: the love for speed and car technology. But I still have to feed two children, so for a while I'd have to be careful.

Seriously!

Although I take on board your concerns.

Nurmbergring...Scared the hell out of him.. He had a slight prang and then discovered that the insurance didn't cover him for these "days out" :(

You could do it in Monza, Hockenheim, or Spa, Torque. But I bet you won't survive. Do I have to remind you of Sheikh Jassim and the Mercedes McLaren near AL Khor?

Not really many places one could do that, although the last stretch of Emirates Road approaching Ras Al Khaimah would be good though...

Not that I've been within a 100kmph of that of late...;-)

I understand there are three. 2 have been mentioned on this forum previously, and I saw one near ASD 2 weeks ago. Black over gold - bloody gorgeous. Only in Doha!!
