Asian in Bahrain assaulted in second attack on expatriates in three days:

Manama: Unknown assailants have attacked an Asian national and torched his motorcycle in a new act of violence, the interior ministry has said.

"The Asian national who works for a local restaurant was delivering food on his motorcycle on Sunday when he was attacked at around 10.45 pm in the Daih area. Several people stopped him, beat him up and set his motorcycle ablaze," the interior ministry said in a statement.
"The victim sustained injuries to his head, face and other parts of his body, and was taken to hospital for treatment."

The ministry launched a massive investigation to apprehend the assailants and bring them to justice, the statement said.

A nice gentleman who worked for our company over 10 years. He had no gripes with anyone. He was simply driving home from work when he found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is in intensive care critical condition, we are all praying that he will survive this senseless attack.

in these areas of Bahrain a lot of the time,so the odds of them getting attacked are higher.

Mind you, it was a policeman who got killed last year in an attack like this,by a Molotov.

So no-ones safe.......

are becoming common there nowadays, as I got a friend who's also working there told me the same. But, how the Asians became the target of these 2 conflicting tribes?

be Asian people that were targetted lately.

This rioting happens regularly here.

I'm led to believe its the Shia muslims who are fed up with the Sunni royal family and say that its the sunni's that have all the high ranking jobs, and Shia's are been refused.........The Bahrain version of "wasta" i suppose.

then what is it? Why such rage with the Asians?

I know Bahrain is becoming an open country now and are these the repercussions of being open?
