Art or just bad taste ?
There is always a fine line about what is acceptable as art. It is all subjective.
However, to me , this pushes the boundry a little too far. What say you ?
____________
A Dutch artist has turned his dead cat into a remote-control flying helicopter. Jansen calls his creation the Orvillecopter and describes it as "half-cat, half-machine."
The Orvillecopter is exactly what it looks like: A taxidermied cat with a plastic propeller attached to each paw.

lol.......Shera golf balls is a sweet revenge, reminds me Tom and Jerry playing golf ;D)))
this is what people call dangerous mind..wonder what he will do next..turn his dog into a car or boat maybe...
he should not be near with pet lovers as they might take revenge and cut his balls and preserve it as golf balls..ouch!!!!
what about eyes?
As I understand taxidermy is a surgery of human body post-mortem to maintain just a skeleton with skin :P
Taxidermy is an art. Basically, remove all internal organs and treat the carcass with chemicals..
MN....how long one can preserve a dead body? and how to kill the deadly smell?
Mummify could be a better solution to display in a museum
I thought I would find it creepy but I can't stop laughing. I want someone to turn me into a helicopter after I die. I will donate my body to science just to make that happen!
And her fleece was white as snow...... Like Jansen , I too thought about having her mounted :O(
tigabaguio, Thats even worst, attached to my pets and other animals?
Even Brits can't forget his first pet Love, who went by the name of Betsy. She would Baa Baa every time she saw Brit..:)
brit...
aahh..
i meant im so attached to my pets and to any other animals i should say..
They say war is an art. In modern times, absolutely anything could be art to some people. Personally I am not fascinated seeing dead animals and people.
"im so attached to my fellow animals.."
Other than chicken, lamb, beef and fish, for our tasty food; we don't kill anyone especially the pets.
brit..
pardon me..
which line?
please don't say that on a public forum. people might get the wrong idea :O)
Oh, me too...quite.:)
well..
kind consideration madam, its the way i am..
im so attached to my fellow animals..
Ah....that will weaken you even more....rabbit food..:0
NM..
no but thanks, im becoming a vegetarian..
Tiga, eat a nice, rare steak...and your strength will be back before you even know it!
awts again..
made me feel weak..
Brit, not warm, looking good!Let's not get carried away here....oh, and some of them taste quite good too!
Those poor poor animals. Giving their life to keep you warm :o(
Fathimah, you could swallow a Guppy whole though....and PETA...well, since I wear fur, PETA and I are not exactly close friends...:P
no merci..
awts..
ukeng..
i hope u kill the mice before flushing it in your toilet..
give the guinea pig a proper burial..
respect your pets..
Didn't you hear the PETA folks: "Fish are friends, not food"?? How could you?? *psssst* I'd have done the same.. lucky you. All I got were some guppies!
I was once given crayfish as pets. I ate them.
Victory..I am talking over 3 decades.. not just now..:)
to animals.
UKENG.......Do you own a small zoo ;D
The dog I lost I rested in a Following River.
The Cat that died was buried in the back of the garden.
The mice/Rats that I trapped were flushed down the toilet.
The Chicken I kept were eaten by me after they stopped giving eggs.
The budgies where also buried in the back of the garden
We now have a Guniea Pig. Haven't thought about what to do with it after it dies!
this guy is a mad man..
very weird..
i hope the cats around him don't see these cruelty..
Disgraceful,
How would Jansen feels if somebody would do similar experiment with his dead body?
I just find it disturbing and gross!
Have you never had a pet you lost ?
and non sense;
Wild imaginations could not be described as piece of Art.
Humans are social animals, being social have to respect people and their sentiments.
We can draw a hard line to segregate between decent and dirty.
That is mega weird!
I dont know about helicopter - Im sure under the lights of the exhibition, it is developing into a Smelly copter.
Love the landing gear as well - wonder if it is still fitted with its 2 back wheels!!!!
I wonder if it makes a sound like Meeeeeeeeaw as it flies past you?
I's a Cat-asss-trophy :O(
I am loving that "cat's face"...........
I think it's perrrrrrrrrfectly acceptable.
it is a subjective boundary
i find impressionist (monet,Degas,...) and postimpressionist (van gogh, manet,...) wonderfull pieces of art,
but i dislike cubism (picasso), or surrealistic (salvador dali) paintings.
other people disagree.
by the way who bought Munch's scream on 2cd of may? is it still undisclosed buyer? qatar was among the bidders.
Best to accept the notion that an art for a person does not make it an art for all
I dont find it funny nor do i think it as an art.
Neither. Just really funny.
As I said, art is subjective. So, you are right, what I might find too much, you may find acceptable..
There is no line, actually. It's only an invention.
Who draws that "fine line", brit? You?
