Arguments for prostitution
Ok lets fire up a Sunday morning discussion.
The arguments for prostitutions (no not here in Qatar) in certain countries could be:-
1. Safer environment for workers
2. Cleaner environment for workers
3. Health Care for workers
4. Safer, cleaner environment for customers
5. Reduction in sex crimes outside of the profession as well as in (is this true)
6. Gives the ability to make money from your best attributes just the same as an athlete or a scientist
7. Removes pickup spots from residential areas
8. Reduces policing costs to the public
9. Reduces broken marriages (both from customers getting convicted and found out, and where the bedroom may be a problem for some couples)
10. Loyalty point scheme could be introduced
What are the arguments against?
It is not going to go away if you make it legal or keep it illegal. There are always going to be people who want to/need to pay for sex and there are always going to people who want paying for it.
End of story.
hahah LOL..
100 free points to akosiekaburgos ... for the detailed description ... lol
hahha brit.. :) gotta go guys :) see you on other post.. my boss is here. LOL :)
its just a signature ukeng..dont bother yourself about it..
I don't want to lay down on the dirty table :O(
of course :) feel free to post here as long as its not offended right?
akosiekaburgos That exactly what I trying to tell you.. Leave Jesus Christ out of this discussion.. But I like your detailed version of this act in the bar. Could you tell me where this bar is please as me and BritExpat get bored overed the weekend with nothing to do.
Pilgram I did a full monty once.. For charity..:)
akosiekaburgos did you really have to go into that much detail here about the stripping?
And what is this statement supposed to mean?
wk its simply because its not legal thats why it survived a thousand years.
So you think making it legal will abolish prostitution once and for all???
Well we should definitely legalise it then ASAP
it seems we frequent the same places :O)
Yes Brit! That's the name!
ukeng,: im not a priest to explain this one to you :) better yet go to church and shout "explain this one to me!!! :)"
wk its simply because its not legal thats why it survived a thousand years.. i think one country is legal by prostitute im not sure where it is the prostitute have their own ID :)
oh oh my bad pilgram i didnt know :) mee toooo before we went to one bar in our country its a decent actually, live band singing but i was so shock when this 2 person went up the stage and dance while the 4 were singing and the 2 person the girl and a boy are stripping their shirts while dancing then they went down the stage and dance in a table at the end the guy remove and bra of the girl and he laid down the girl were he suck the girl breast.. i wass like oohhh myyy gawwwddd... we ask the bartender why they have this kind of show, they said that every friday night they have a nice show :)
Are you talking about the Chippendales ?
I don't see how the legal status of prostitution is related to marriage..
The "clients" are not that bothered if it's legal or illegal.. How has it survived for thousands of years??
Legal status will change the state of the prostitutes who are being exploited and forced into this profession..
There was an incident in Dubai in 2007, 3 or 4 prostitutes who were kept locked inside his apartment by their pimp died in a fire because they couldn't escape as the apartment was locked and the pimp was away... Maybe such incidents won't happen if it is legalised...
Nope. No touching...I'm trying to remember the name of that dance troupe...they used to go around to the bars...I wanna say something with Pepper in it?
akosiekaburgos - So Christ is not a good example to us, as he has no wife? He has no father that bit I could digest but having no partner yet he speaks of family and wife and so on..Duh I am confuseeeeeeeeeeeed!!
Pilgram so you paid to see a male stripper..did you touch him..:P
its said that Christ love the CHURCH.. not wife :p
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself, In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church Ephesians 5:24"
Can't say I did UKEng :) Did go and see a male strip show though.
Pilgram have you ever had a gigaloo? When you was a free, single and had flowers in your hair?
yea . but in christian i dont think so :) hahaha lets just go to israel brite.. :p
I'm a woman ako, therefore I would have to do this from the point of view of my husband visiting a prostitute. In which case I'd kick him to the curb. Having sex with anyone would be cheating, regardless of whether or not they are a prostitute.
However a single man or woman visiting a pro....well not my cup of tea but to each their own.
Its different things to different folk...
To most its just a business deal..
pilgram as what you have marriage will be marriage? what about if you have wife and she paid a man for pleasure? what would you feel?
Indeed Pilgram it is supposed to be the oldest profession. I wonder what you would have got for say a rabbit, and what you could have got for say a saber tooth tiger.
akosiekaburgos I like your signature. Husband loves your wives, like Christ loved...........
Funny enough Christ never had a wife, So how did he staisfy himself? Yes this profession is older than Christianality?
lol TB.. Yep I always preferred rode on than ride on..:)
purely business transaction? or a monkey business? dirty business like everyone was selling their soul to satan.. as like when you to prostitute agency it was like WELCOME TO H_E_L_L :)
Marriage would still be marriage. Prostitution has been around just as long as marriage, if not longer.
It would make a great theme park. Lots of really interesting rides.
ukeng: its the same in every eye for prostitution its the same pick a girl and paid her for pleasure.. well i guess if this issue will be legalized then how about the blessed marriage? LOL it will just ruin everything.. :)

It usually has nothing to do with satisfaction with wife / girlfriend / partner.
Men visit prostitutes for differing reasons and outcomes. As UkEngQatar says - in the majority of cases it is purely a business transaction.
The right word is Paid not pick! prostititution be it a male or female act, is an act of sexual pleasure in return for financial compensation.
pilgram: its just simply because its legal everyman that want to pick a girl is easily for them how about the family though theres no string attached? when this issue will be legalized how about the human rights of every wife? or even the human rights of prostitute,? im not saying its close to an affair well i guess if someone pick a girl for a pleasure it only means he wasn't satisfied on his wife, if they legalized this issue they just simply open the each others health prone to HIV though others said that their agency will be protect by health org. lets turn the topic to a man, what if your wife pick a guy for a pleasure? are you agree with it?
The term would be Agent..
True Story: When in Saudi, the good looking young wife of a neighbour was popular amongst the residents and outsiders.
I didn't find out till after they'd left that she was on the game and her husband was her pimp..
Seems everyone knew except I :O(
A glutton for punishment?
lol Pilgram, its all in the words.
Pilgram what would one call a husband who was a pimp for his wife?
It's a bit of word play UkEng, pimp carries bad connotations, but if you say Madame it's a bit easier to swallow.
Tinkerbell the brand name is Mates you plonker.
Yes Pilgram, I already mentioned that in my above post Agents. Similar to agents the Footballers have?
Pimps aren't necessarily a bad thing. In a legalized situation the pimps act as business managers. The issue is when they abuse the pro's. But if you legalize it they are held to standards of behaviour.
What is brand name for condoms manufactured by the Virgin Group?
That would be Virgin on the ridiculous :O)
That would be TOP quality for sure :-))
The RLD in Amsterdam is like a picnic spot. Families sit on the edge of the canal eating lunch or enjoying a few beers, it's just so cool :-)
Oh I don't know Brit. The pimps could become large corporates. And large corporates may decide to move into the market. We could see Virgin Mega Hoar soon.
Curiosity got the better of me and I went to talk to one coz she seemed the friendly types and was getting off duty ;-)
I ended up giving her my choker I got from India (she liked it) :-)
A valid point. During the last world cup in South Africa, special dispensation was given to such establishments.
As Timebandit asked for arguments against :
Some studies have shown that legalizing prostitution actuially leads to an increase in traficking.
Also, by legalising prostitution, you are not doing away with pimps, but legitimising them.
Pilgram please share with us your recent trip to Amsterdam!
Yes definately even all the sportng events and the major events around the world attract Pros to such events helping the local economy. Becasue the punters not only gonna have a shag, they will need a bed, food fags etc etc.
So definately the Pros bring in lot of dollars/euros/rupees/riyals..:)
then i won't have to try hard MJ ;-))
I'm just thinking the Red light distract in Amsterdam. It's a zoo of parents, children, grandma & grandpa, etc. It doesn't seem like anyone's actually soliciting the prostitutes, just looking at them.
Colt, wear something tacky so you'll match up.. :P
You think I can match up to the likes of the wolf and hard hat??? :-P
Temptation burns a hole in ones pocket :-(
Say, which desert again? :-P
One pro that nobody brought up is the huge amounts of tourist dollars you get from Red Light Districts...and that's just from people walking around and looking in windows.
Yes Colt45 you PIMP!..:)we are getting there. We have just managed to convince Tinker to join us at 2am in the darkest desert to discuss this issue at hand..:)
Stop hijacking, we're talking about the pros and cons of legalizing prostitution here :-P
you expect at 2am. sure a drunk party in darkness in desert
dont forget to bring your ambulance with you.
Da she will never come with us, as she is a key member of the flash mob aka The anti - QLSG group..:) lol j/k
Ok Tinker you can kick me, but just one condition. You will have to tell me how b/f you have..:) lol j/k
yea next time we meet at 2am me and Ukeng and few others in singing dunes. so be there on time.
My Bad :O(
BritExpat.. lovemee is a lady not a guys as you have implied in the above post lol..Funny never the less.
Tinker yes you can kick me if thats will help you deal with it!..:)
WK, Lovemee and WK decided to visit a prostitute. It was a slow night, So she gave the guys a deal. "You can pay by the inch."
WK comes back out and his friends ask, "How much did she charge you?"
"75 Riyals," said WK.
Lovemee goes in and returns with a fee of 85 Riyals. The first two were proud of their prowess.
UkEngQatar goes in and returns, "How much did she charge you?" ask the first two.
"20 Riyals" replies the UK.
The first two start laughing hysterically.
"Hey guys," replied UK, "I'm not so stupid, I paid on the way out instead of on the way in!"
Oyee Pikey get over it mate.. Its a trait here. married women have more b/f here than married guys having g/f..lol
Really dont know the answer to that question lets ask the women?..:)
Aye I is all for legalising the prostitution atleast you will know that she is doing it for the money and not for love!
What would you called a married prostitute that chooses such profession?
lol BritExpat.. Yes Jack plenty of scope.
I remember me, WK and Lovemee went to a bar in the Shraton a while back. Out of three of us the young WK got the most offers. Infact there was this one Eaastern European chap who was admant on taking WK home until I stepped in and had to fend him off. :)
lol.. UK.... I gotta stay far away from "your" friends.... ;)
Well said... Never did me any harm... Infact it made a man of me... :O)
Now getting back to the discussion at hand...
Yes plenty of scope Jack.. I know a few guys who are always looking for fresh blood. You interested. Good money and like BritExpats will say one up the bum no harm done. :)
Is there any scope for Guys in this Profession?...lol
Yes pilgram is correct. Why are people getting confused with prostitution and an affair. Prostitution is a sexual pleasure offered in return for money with no strings attached. Whereas an affair is emotional act they may also and many case does involve sexuat acts.
Now the questions is that, should a Prostitute ask the punter if he is married or not before she offers her services?
Why would they akosiekaburgos? I doubt more people would start soliciting prostitution just because it's legal. If you're the type of person who pays for sex you're going to do it legal or no.
if they legalize this issue im sure lots of families will break :(
Sure does Pilgrim, but not in our part of the woods. And why? Because of a mix of all those things stated earlier :-(
Legalise it. Collect their taxes, Create proper Agents with management fees rather than Pimps. The agents should sign Contract with the professional pleasure services providers. To protect her/him and to provide the best clients to him/her.
Indian society is not mature enough to legalise prostitution yet. Police doesn't always provide protection there so we need to sort out for law & order system before moving ahead.
I met this lady in Hollywood, she had green hair but damn she looked good. I took her to my house because she was fine, but she whipped out a dick that was bigger than mine :-))
Well Colt, you can't run if you don't know how to walk. Legalization works, but you need to have a lot of other things sorted first!
Lmao WK !
Colt was walking around Frankfurt with his wife.
They find a perfume shop, the wife goes in, and he waits outside.
A hooker comes along and says to him, “Like to come home with me, buddy? “
“For how much?” asks the man.
“One hundred Euros,” the hooker answers.
“I’ll give you five,” he replies.
The hooker swears at him and walks away.
A little later, Colt’s wife comes out of the shop and they continue their walk.
As they round the corner, there stands the same hooker. She takes one look at the man and his wife and says, “HA!. see what you get for five Euros?”
You hit the nail on the head. It's our government that doesn't give a damn. The few NGO's that take a stand on this are squashed and threatened with dire consequences :-(
I was impressed how well it is controlled in the UAE. You come out of York Hotel and only 10metres from the door of the lobby to the line of taxis waiting..:)
I was just oberseving this from Hotel opposite the Road with Mrs UkEng so dont get any wrong ideas..:)
So the issue there tink is not that legalization is a bad idea, it's just that culturally you can hardly be ready to legalize prostitution when you need to even start the basics of feminism and equality.
seriously... LOL!!!
Over population and corrupt governments would definitely play a role.
the population plays an important role imo... could that be a reason why I feel it won't work in the 3rd world countries?
Pilgrim - I like your optimism nonetheless :-)
Well first steps are first steps. I think the major issue in 3rd world countries is that women are barely viewed as human to begin with, if a woman is a prostitute she ranks lower than a dog. So there's no desire to help them in the first place.
I never really thought about that. The rationale being, because sometimes I see police cars around that area and just brush it aside and go on my way :-(
Colt do you think it's any different in 1st world countries? It's the same everywhere. That's why you legalize it, unionize it and get rid of the pimps. You have to take the first step.
the difference in the 3rd world countries is, the tricks who face up to the pimps, will end up maimed for life or dead :-(
That's why legalizing cuts down on the police abusing the girls as well Tink. Legalizing it gives these women a voice.
As far as I know , It is .. I know of an establishment in Southampton..
Kerbcrawling and soliciting is illegal..
I have seen it tink, and I think the major issue there is that the citizens let it happen. As Colt just said, he's approached asking if he prefers virgin boys or girls. Why the hell aren't you reporting this to the police?
It would help in 3rd world countries as well. If you legalize it you make it easier for the prostitutes to approach the police when they see trafficking occurring, which they will (they don't want pimps encroaching on their territory anymore than the police want pimps). Now one of the major issues continuing trafficking is that the pro's refuse to to go to the police because they'll just be tossed in jail themselves.
Frankfurt is the same, but you still see hordes of women out on the street soliciting. And then you will get the occasional pimp come up to you and ask if you have any preference for young boys or virgin girls :-(
Brit prostitution isn't legal anywhere in the UK... is it?
This was my point. It all depends on the society. There is no "one rule for all"..
In India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, prostitution is rife and accepted by society. But , if you tried to legalize it, then ...........
Tink, if you make it legal you put in place mandatory health checks and mandatory condom use. Again, if you unionize the pro's, they'll generally take care of this monitoring themselves. Making it safer for both parties.
In 1st world countries maybe, but not 3rd world countries :-(
Simply making it legal doesn't cut down on streetwalkers Brit, you need to do what Nevada and Amsterdam have done and organize brothels and areas where it's legal. Organizing unions made up of the prostitutes helps a great deal.
Atleast it will remove one confusion from my mind, Till date I haven't been able to figure out whether prostitution is legal or not in Delhi.. There is a well known red light area and there are cops there all the time so I guess it's legal but sometimes they do catch the people visiting that place and extort money from them as if it's illegal...
You mean like Nevada? The Netherlands? Everywhere human trafficking is controlled by the underworld, and Nevada and Amsterdam have shown how legalization can really help stop trafficking, cut down on STDs and protect these women & men.
It all depends on the society itself.
It works in Holland, but in England, where it is legal in some parts, streetwalkers still flourish.
In the Phillipines and Thailand, it is illegal, yet bars act as fronts for "legal" prostitution.
Yes but legalizing it makes it easier to catch traffickers. And if the people involved in prostitution are doing it of their own free will, then who are we to stop them? They aren't hurting anyone.
True dat, but I don't think it will work in places where this trade is controlled by the underworld. It is huge revenue for them and they will still continue to force women into this.
it demeans the essence of being human. so no to prostitution!
Of course those forced into wouldn't like, but that's why you legalize it. If you legalize it it's easier to monitor and control and you cut out trafficking. Keeping it underground makes it easier to traffic minors.
Experiences show that legalizing it actually makes it better, because it cuts out the women brought in through trafficking and the drug addicts.
And when you legalize it you get things like Unions that are designed to help these women quit if they want to and provide programmes to keep them safe.
Like it or not Tink there are people who do choose to go into this profession just like there are people who choose to become exotic dancers and porn stars, and I don't believe they find their career choice demeaning.
This is why i would vote against legalization..
The pimps will still be around, only this time they will be pimping minors :-(
I personally think it should be legalised but then where do we stop.. As I said drugs should be legalised too, nobody has been able to stop drug trafficking so might as well make it legal and will generate huge tax revenues as well..
against of it, thats the reason why HIV are now getting bigger.. because of that..
I believe the logic is that by legalizing it, you would get rid of the pimps and only those who wish to go into the profession would do so.
I personaly believe this logic is flawed..
#10 - In Singapore one of the massage parlours in a mall has a tempting offer. For every 10 massages completed, you get 1 free.
TB - you got anything like that? ;-)
I'm going to argue against, because there are still a large number of youth in the Indian sub, who will not go anywhere near a trick, for fear of being rounded up by the cops in surprise raids.
So legalizing it will remove that fear factor from them and only encourage them.
So are you for or against the legalization ?
Yes - some women get into it out of choice and easy money :-(
one could argue that the "Customer" is demeaning him/her self by going to such an establishment..
Yes, legalization would benefit some, but as we've seen, there will always be the streetwalkers.
Prostitution is going to happen whether you like it or not and it isn't going to go away. Legalizing it makes it easier to control and safer.
Who said woman? It could be either.
Beware of people posting unrelated stuff in a thread
Pursuit of distraction and relief from reality… Showing of uncontentment… sign of depression either…or just an exploration....out of curiosity!
I doubt whether there would be a "Reduction in sex crimes outside of the profession"
Most sex crimes occur between people who know each other...
Taxing the professionals?
Similar arguments can be given for legalising drugs as well
I realise that its the oldest profession in the world, but I don't agree with
"Reduces broken marriages"
I would think the oposite. By openly available, more people may "sample" it..
None, since more than 5 000 years.
10. Loyalty point scheme could be introduced
I like that one.. :-) Like will there be a end of season sale Buy one get one free
