Hi! I am American and we are planning on moving over this summer from Germany. I was wondering if there is a German community in Doha??

Do any of you have Germans for children???  If so where do they go to school and what do you  do about their german ?? Eventually they will have to go back to school here.....won't they?

 

do they have classes at the embassy??

and you can meet them if you want on tuesday the 29 april for after work drinks, or FEIERABEND at the Irish harp in the Sheraton........

Hi,

I have two kids 9 and 6 yrs old speak nice German. They watch Super RTL (now its stopped tele-casting) an RTL II and ARD. They have no German Speaking freinds.

I wish if we could meet somwhere sometime and our kids have fun.

If you know the Aziziyah Road find the Patisserie Suisse the road next to it is going to Garveys.

I got 3 German lesson CDs . I didn't get a chance to try it but very nice lessons .. I have given it to about 15 people here ... if anybody interested I can make a copy for you ... (FREE)

there is a german business council here in Doha and my old company is a member in it... there are around 400 - 500 Germans in qatar.. You can contact Ms.Susanne at 58 15 972 and she is the representative of the german business council here .

The embassy is organized a German "Stammtisch" Meeting once a month. You can get the information direct from the embassy.

The meeting will be at the Doha Golf Club.

Dear! Garveys is not just a bar, it's a club that has swimming pool for people who feel hot! like those guys on the other thread! they better jump into the pool to ease their body temperature as it sounds like they are already into boiling point. he! he! he!

This couple has 1 daughter and she goes to English nursery, as there is no German school here. just a couple of months ago little girl don't know any English at all, but when I saw her after 4 months she learn to speak English.

Yes! there are some Germans here in Doha, one couple we know are staying at Garveys. He's the head of Microsoft assigned here in Doha, the couple says there are some of their fellow country people here. If you go to Garveys there are more Germans there hanging out in the bar.
