Over 1.5 million Kenyan men are battered by their wives. It has been revealed that many men suffer Domestic Violence from their spouses in silence. A new research shows that domestic violence against men has substantially shot up. Normally it is widely held that women are always the victims but today women are also perpetrators of domestic abuse and violence.

Normaly women will share with their friends in case they are battered by their husbands but men in most occasions opt to keep quiet hence leaving the abuse by women against men in the dark. As usual there has to be a specific place that takes toll, Central province leads in physical abuse by women against men, at 72 percent. Nairobi is second at 60 percent.

The abuse includes injuries and emotional abuse such as battering verbal abuse, denial of marital rights and being forced to do house chores. Others are even raped and inflicted with bodily injuries besides being insulted. More than 60 per cent of the women interviewed in 40 districts nationally admitted that they had physically abused their husbands.

According to the survey, most of those affected were newly weded and those in old marriages. Their research found that men had little say on issues concerning conjugal rights because women were the ones who determined when and how they should make love.

How many of you agree that domestic Violence against Men is rising all over the world?

it is True not battering physically but mentally and it is all the time......

I have seen this man (picture) last evening at Starbucks...with QL group; who beated him?

Read this Article:

REPORTED IN PENINSULA

“Sultan Abdullah Sulaiti explained that there many kinds of violence by women, and they were not necessarily physical in nature.

Subjecting a partner to mental and physical violence torture was also a kind of violence. The tendency on the part of some women to try and control their husbands was no less than violence.

Mohammad Hosseini, such cases were not normally reported by men. Many men preferred to suffer in silence rather than report such cases to the concerned authorities”

ok just read the actual article. Assumed FS had copy and pasted. It doesn't say anything about household chores in the article.

But yes, I still have to laugh about the denial of sex being abuse. If having sex was something women wanted, then they wouldn't be able to withhold it, and it only be considered abuse to their husbands.

I had to laugh at

"abuse is defined as denial of marital rights and forcing them to do house chores".

Must be a really reliable survey lol. Damn, that means the statistics in Western countries of abuse by women is 100%. In fact, I'm not even married and I make my male house mate to do chores. haha

Men are learning more and more that it is not acceptable to hit women . Women as well as men are learning this lesson. In many relationships , perhaps more so in the beginning ,there is a battle for dominance. In the past it was accepted that the man was the provider and the strenghth in a relationship. These dynamics have changed in modern times.

Also, if a woman is aware her husband is completely against physically abusing women, and maybe she does not posess the intelectual or emotional integrity to reason the common hurdles of life out with him , then yes she may resort herself to physical and emotional abuse.

On a serious note FS.. Yes women are becoming more independent, confident and like to stand up for themselves.

Violent by either sex should not be condoned. However because some men refuse to hit women back, they become more and more confident in using violence rather than reasoning to resolve issues.

Women are more educated and self dependent now and this is the reason why such incidents are shooting up. If both the parties agree to maintain balance in the relationship, im sure these things will stop. But they gotta need lot of maturity for that.
