Aramex...I'm so frustrated

Sorry guys, I have to vent. I have been using Aramex to ship things here from the US. When I signed up for the "Shop and Ship" service, they said they ship 3 times a week and that we would receive our packages in 3 to 5 days. Well, that worked for the first week.

I have been using "Shop and Ship" for the past year now, and the service has deteriorated rapidly. As it stands now, when a package is received in New York, it takes up to 3 to 4 days for it to be manifested for shipping. Then they mark the package as shipped on the website. Now, I check on the website daily to see where the packages are and when to expect them here in Doha so I can arrange my schedule to go pick them up. I'll use my last shipment as an example. My packages arrived in New York on Aug 18-20th. They were manifested for shipping on the 20th and 22nd. They were all supposedly shipped on the 23rd. Today is the 27th and all the packages have not even left New York yet. The next stop on the tracking is Dubai, and they are not there yet. So my packages have been in New York for 7 to 9 days. That does not sound like shipping three times a week to me.

Oh, and I have another thing to complain about. Now they are sending me emails saying that "Unacceptable Material" was received in New York. These emails are annoying. The "Unacceptable Material" is Miracle Whip mayo that they have SHIPPED TO ME TWO TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. They deny shipping it to me in the past and we have had several arguments with the New York office about it. I even have the packing slips and Aramex tracking number to prove it. They are refusing to ship my daughter's prescription vitamins that we can't buy over here, which Aramex has shipped to me at least 3 times over the past year.

Long story short, I guess arguing with them has done a little bit of good. As of this morning the "Unacceptable Material" has a tracking number and has been marked as shipped on the website. Now, if they would just actually put my last packages on a plane and get them here. I have found another shipping company to ship my things here that I will use from now on. I just wonder how much longer all of my things are going to sit in a warehouse in New York before they are actually sent here, 5 or 6 more days?? I can't wait to get my final things in so I can cancel my Aramex account.

Just thought I would let people know how things really work at Aramex. Beware...the service isn't as good as it sounds, at least it wasn't for me.

Hi Scotiabank, yeah, I have had QPost consistently hold our things for 3 months. So, in the case of my daughter's vitamins, I would have to order them 3 months before I actually needed them before they would get here, and then hope they would make it on time. That is why we found Aramex to be so much better, if things did get held in customs, it was only for a few days. We just decided to pay the extra money for shipping and sign up with the new company, so our stuff will get here in 1 to 4 days with DHL Express.

Really mikaylasmom? Once I ordered from a US store and got my stuff from Qpost 10 days later! Another time I ordered from the same store and got it 5 weeks later.

I have never waited more than 5 weeks for stuff from Qpost, it's strange they held your stuff for 3 months.

Hi greentea, we used the regular US postal service, which when it gets here is handled by QPost. The packages we were getting from home were held by Qpost for 3 months! These were things like a money clip and business card holder for my husband. Some Backyardigans movies for my daughter (children's cartoon series in the US). So that was why we signed up with Aramex, they said the delivery time would be 3 to 5 days. Which only happened the first week we used them. We had a friend who spoke Arabic call QPost and they said it is customary for them to hold packages for 3 months before sending them out to be delivered.

Hi abidr, the next stop for your packages will be Dubai, that will be the next thing to show up on your account on the website, but most likely, like my experience, it will take a week or longer for them to show up in Dubai. Once they are in Dubai, they usually get here to Doha the next day. That part is pretty reliable. It's just the New York to Dubai part that is the problem.

I just signed up with a company called AccessUSA (MyUS.com). They use DHL Express to ship here in 1 to 4 days. They are more expensive, but you are paying for Express shipping, which after a year of delays with Aramex, I am more than happy to pay more money to get my things here quicker.

I had a book I ordered arrive in Qatar after 2 months with Aramex, and they expected me to pay for the shipping charges. The book was shipped to the NY office 3 days after I had ordered it, it would have been much faster if I ordered it through regular Qatar post, the sad thing is now Amazon has stopped sending to Qatar. What other shipping company do you use?

I agree though, Aramex sucks and is a waste of money.
