I'm glad you responded! And sorry, yeah I can actually turn any discussion into a serious talk about music and chocolate..:)

Serious now, what's wrong with teaching proper Arabic typing? why is it a problem in our "Arabic" countries? I know one day the keyboard invention will be an old fashion, maybe until a proper Arabic voice-activated tool is well in place.

I say this and I'm a slow Arabic typist myself, are you too slower in Arabic typing, or you probably use Franco-Anglo- Roman- Indian Numeric symbols? lol

rani, if people don't learn how to type in Arabic, using these tools will not make them as fast as somebody on an Arabic keyboard... It just takes some getting used to, and anybody can type quickly...

I type in English faster (80wpm) than I do in Arabic (55wpm), but if I type Arabic with English characters and keep fixing what the tools propose by moving and clicking the mouse, I'd be much much slower...

LOL this is not about musical keyboards!!

rates of slow arabic typing writers are being high.. the high demand on using Arabizi is putting this business on fire, hence Google and Microsoft developed such products

Novi, have you been taking your classes here? I think you have, you must be so proud of yourself!

rani84jor ....we're still on keyboards, only musical ones, and you won't respond anyway, you never did!

Stupid thread....

These are nice when you don't have an Arabic keyboard around, but it's much faster to type on a real Arabic Keyboard...

The original blog post doesn't say anything about them being dead. Why did you make that conclusion.

I type in Arabic just as fast as I type in any other language.

يمكنني الطباعة باللغة العربية بنفس سرعتي في أية لغة أخرى.

As a teenager, I was told I had to trim my nails to properly hit the keys, so I thought to myself, I could live without playing piano, but couldn't imagine my hands without longer nails..:))

So, I gave up on it, before I had even decently started my proficient level, but I know the basics at least.

Arabic Keyboards are not dead and won't be, as long as Arabic speaking nations are alive.
