Appeal for Rescue Meena
A Nepalese lady named Meena Gurung from Prakapur,V.D.C. Ward No. – 2 , Sunsari, Koshi, Nepal is serving a Muslim family in Kuwait for five years as a domestic helper. She was hired by her employer in the middle of 2003.
For the first few months she was treated well and paid on time by her employer. minimum salary as she contribute. But later after few months slowly they started ignoring her and started treating very badly. One after the next month it raised continue treating on the same way. One after the next year today she passed five years with them facing the same treating and situation.
During her five years service period they didn’t allow her to go back home even for the vacation. They do not allow her to go back home now also. She is kept as a prisoner. She has a very miserable life passing with them. She wants to leave for home. But there is no way to escape and go back by her own.
The most important and surprising thing is that she is not paid by her employer even a single dinar salary for a long time. Even though she worked very hard. Every members of the family ask her to work more and more only. She needs to work morning 6:00 am to 12:00 night. She is very far away from her minimum rights. Her employer does not allow her to contact with her family even though she requested for several times. According to her family in Nepal, she is out of contact with them since early October 2006.
Meena is really in great trouble and needs help from us.
