Is anyone as sick of re-posters as I am?

I have been looking for used furniture in the classifieds section on a daily basis. All I keep seeing day after day is the same people re-posting their ugly items. We don't want your pink and purple floral print 1990's sofa with the rose embroidered pillows...no one wants it...that's why you haven't gotten any phone calls...it's not because you didn't post it enough. I'm not going to name names or point you out but PLEASE PEOPLE - post only once...

…it could have been worse. The seller would not have posted the pic of his furniture, just a raving review – you spend 15 mins noting the address, another hour and half finding the address and then you finally get to see THIS SOFA. You would have socked him in da face.

One thing though – generally repost have the same tagline/headline. So you do not have to click on ‘em. It is irritating though when you really searching for something you come across the same junk post and people actually want money for ‘em ;-)

I agree that people should only be allowed to post their item once within a 24 hour time frame but why shouldn't people be allowed to re-post it the next day? If after 2 weeks an item hasn't been sold, what do you think the chances are of people even going through that many adverts to find it right at the end?

What is the problem here ?

It's their choice to post as many times as they wish. We can choose to ignore them or silently curse them... :O)

@ Kieron - Sorry...that actual couch wasn't for sale...too bad for you - I just googled for an image of ugly sofa's..haha

@ Honda - The problem is when someone looks every day it doesn't waste anyones time. If every time I was looking for something it posted a link that people had to click through I'm sure the community of QL members would get annoyed with me as well...haha. If you look at international successful networking sites such as Craigslist they actually have coding/software in place that automatically detects duplicate or similar posts and will not allow you to post twice. That is also a term/condition of using the site - you are not allowed to post the same ad twice. And by saying this in no way am I stating i'd rather use Craigslist over QL - I'm just saying there is always room for improvement/evolution. This keeps the environment fresh and full of only useful information. Once the link expires, sure - post it again.

@Bink - That's exactly what I'm talking about...lol

@Saeekan - There aren't any preview thumbnails for posts so I can't ignore it if I don't know what it is...I am forced to explore the same link over and over

@ all the people telling me I'm rude and to cool down - Unfortunately you can't tell what my demeanour is through text alone. I'm not fuming, I'm not flipping out - This is a public forum for discussion and I'm discussing my opinion on re-posters and ugly sofa's. If you would like I will gladly buy all of you that ugly couch (although you'll have to share pieces of it) from the reposter and hand deliver it to your house with a smile on my face. At least that might stop them from reposting it again... :)

Nothing against you Ikimond... or the point you are trying to make, but couches like that are most offensive!!!

What about you? When you are looking for furnitures and you dont get at the first try you keep on searching again and again. The same way the other guy also has got his right to post it again and again till he gets his customer. the thing ugly for you might be beautiful for someone. HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND
